Strategists are support characters in Marvel Rivals who excel at healing and buffing allies while locking down enemies. They are a bit harder to pick up and master than the Duelists and the Vanguards in the MOBA, but when mastered you will be capable of dictating the flow of the battlefield.
So if you are looking to seriously pick up the role in Marvel Rivals, below is a list that ranks all the Strategists that are currently available in Season 0.
Marvel Rivals Season 0 Strategist tier list
Tier | Characters |
---|---|
S | Luna Snow, Mantis, Adam Warlock |
A | Loki, Cloak and Dagger, Rocket Raccoon |
B | Jeff the Land Shark |
It’s hard to pick the best Strategist who will fit your playstyle as you will first need to familiarize yourself with some of the core gameplay mechanics in Marvel Rivals. As it’s one of the harder roles to pick up, you will need to have a good know-how of the other characters and roles.
So before you are sure which Strategist best fits you, try out other roles and then transition in the ones that we have put on the S-tier. These picks usually have the highest impact in a match and can be effective even when you are not executing them properly.
All Strategists ranked in Marvel Rivals
7) Jeff the Land Shark

Unfortunately, fan favorite Jeff the Land Shark has the honor of being the worst Strategist in the game. Jeff is a solid pick in the mid-to-low elo bracket.
However, his impact greatly diminishes the more you climb up the ranks. While Jeff’s kit might seem a bit broken at first glance, it is very lackluster compared to the best Strategists in the game.
Jeff’s healing is quite good but he provides no additional boosts to the team other than movement speed through his bubbles. He also has one of the worst Strategist ultimates in the game that can easily backfire as you will leave your team vulnerable without a healer.
Compared to the other Strategists, Jeff simply doesn’t offer enough to be a viable pick in most scenarios.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– The easiest Strategist to use in Marvel Rivals. – Great sustained healing and burst healing, – Decent survivability and mobility, – Solid team-ups with Groot and Luna Snow | – Extremely large head hitbox compared to other Strategists leaves him vulnerable despite his passive reducing headshot damage – Has no CC abilities except his ultimate – Unreliable ultimate that can be easily dodged while leaving your team with no healing |
6) Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon is quite an underrated and easy Strategist to pilot as he is one of the very few heroes that can revive a teammate and give them a second chance.
While this might be a bit inconsequential in the lower ranks, it is an absolute game changer in high elo games where each pick matters a lot in deciding the outcome of a fight.
On top of this, Rocket can easily heal his allies by bouncing his heal orbs off of walls and other terrain. This allows him to comfortably position himself in the backlines and heal people that aren’t even in his line of sight.
Finally, he has decent mobility to escape a lot of divers and is a capable duelist in very niche scenarios.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– One of the easier Strategists to use in Marvel Rivals who can heal and revive allies. – Can find creative ways to heal allies by bouncing the orbs of walls. – Smaller hitbox and movement speed passive makes him very hard to shoot at and kill. – B.R.B is one of the best abilities to neuter the tempo of the enemy team – Extremely powerful team-up with The Punisher and Winter Soldier – A surprisingly powerful Vanguard shredder when any opportunity arises to deal damage | – He is a heal-bot that can rarely on doing any damage – Has no CC to set up plays or counter dives – One of the weakest Strategist ultimates in the game. |
5) Cloak and Dagger

Cloak and Dagger is a very common pick in higher ranks where Luna Snow and Mantis are often banned. They provide immense utility and a solid defensive ult to stall out fights.
From auto-aim heals to shredding enemy resistances, Cloak and Dagger have numerous abilities that is a bit challenging to fully grasp from the get-go.
However, good Cloak and Dagger players can completely carry games with smart understanding of when to swap to Cloak for damage and debuffs, and when to swap back to Dagger to keep allies topped up.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– A plethora of abilities to counter a lot of difficult scenarios. – Consistent healing that doesn’t require aiming – Decent damage output through Cloak – A powerful ultimate that can negate some of the strongest ultimates. | – Jack of all trades, master of none. – Underwhelming team-up ability with Moon Knight compared to other Strategists |
4) Loki

Loki is easily the most underrated Strategist in Marvel Rivals. However, he is also the hardest Strategist to master.
A good Loki can frustrate the enemy team to a point where they simply can’t kill anyone. Loki has consistent healing and the best ability in the game, a runestone that generates a field where no one can die unless the runestone is destroyed.
However, a bad Loki player will be of no use a lot of the time and can single-handedly cost the game. Therefore, the God of Mischief is a hero that rewards players who dedicate a lot of time to master him
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– The best hero at sewing chaos on the battlefield – Can solo-carry games with good gameplay – The single-best ability in the game that denies any form of damage. – Deceptively good flanker that can occasionally pick off key targets. – One of the best ultimates in the game. | – Requires extensive game knowledge and mastery to get maximum value – Clones can backfire against heroes such as Moon Knight and Winter Soldier |
3) Adam Warlock

Despite having no crowd control abilities or mobility, Adam Warlock is a downright terrifying pick in the right hands. A good Adam Warlock that outputs consistent damage and positions himself well can single-handedly win a game.
His healing ability is incredible at denying combo-based dive heroes. Pairing this with Soul Bond, one of the strongest abilities in the game essentially nullifies a lot of hard hitting ultimates such as Psylocke’s Dance of the Butterfly.
The best part about Adam Warlock is his ultimate, Karmic Revival. Having the ability to revive teammates and swing the game in your favor is an unbelievably powerful tool. A good Adam Warlock ultimate can turn a lost fight into a successful victory.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– The Strategist with the most potential for consistent DPS – One of the best team-ups in the game with Star Lord and Mantis. – Soul Bond is one of the best abilities in the game. – An extremely strong ultimate that can change the course of a match – Good healing to counter characters reliant on combos such as Spiderman and Black Panther – A free revive every 105 seconds is incredibly powerful | – Lacks any kind of mobility which makes him an easy target for divers such as Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and Psylocke – Requires extremely good positioning and game sense – Decent aim is required to get good value out of him. |
2) Mantis

One of the two heroes that currently dominates the Strategist meta is Mantis. She pretty much has the perfect kit for a support.
Consistent healing, reliable damage, and incredibly teamwide buffs make her an annoying presence on the battlefield.
She also has a powerful CC ability that can deny a lot of ultimate plays and dives, which can be very frustrating for the enemy.
Her ultimate, Soul Resurgence, can deny almost any ultimate ability, and allows her team to push aggressively for eight seconds to win a fight. Mantis is a common ban in higher ranks for a very good reason as there are very little flaws in her kit.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– Unbelievable damage potential for herself and her team – One of the best CC and ultimate abilities in the game – Consistent healing and damage boosts can allow certain Duelists heroes to solo-carry the game. – A deceptively difficult Strategist to dive thanks to good damage output and CC. | – A bit reliant on good aim to have consistent uptime on Life Orbs – Can struggle against enemies that have 3-4 dive heroes. |
1) Luna Snow

The other Strategist that is dominating the meta, and arguably the best hero in the game, is Luna Snow. A very common ban in high ranks, Luna Snow has unbelievably consistent healing to the point where she can get the most powerful ultimate in the game within the first minute of a match.
She has good self-peel with her snowball CC ability, Absolute Zero. She can also deal solid damage with her Ice Arts ability which can pierce through allies and enemies.
Luna Snow’s ultimate, Fate of Two Worlds, is easily the most broken part of her kit and is in desperate need of a nerf. A 12 second ultimate that essentially makes her entire team immortal, bar an Iron Man, Scarlet Witch or Magneto ultimate, is downright unfair.
This ultimate alone makes her the best Strategist in the game as it can single-handedly win teamfights and change the course of a match.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
– The most consistent healing in the game. – Solid survivability with self-heal and Absolute Zero. – The best ultimate in the game. – Deceptively decent damage output. – Powerful team-up with Namor, one of the strongest Duelists in the game. | – Susceptible to heavy dive team compositions. – Missing Absolute Zero on a diver is a death sentence without another player peeling for you. |
