Creaking is a hostile mob that has made its way to Minecraft with the Pale Garden biome. It is one of the most adverse foes that you will encounter in the game and you will be able to spot it with its three horizontal glowy eyes.
One unique feature of the Creaking is the way that it attacks. As long as you are looking at it, the mob will seem passive and docile. However, as soon as you look away and are not directly facing it, will it advance and attack you.
The mob does a lot of damage, and it can be hard to deal with especially because it has no health points in the game. So if you are struggling with the Creaking mob in Minecraft, here is a guide that will go over everything you need to know about them.

How to find and encounter Creaking in Minecraft
You will find the Creaking in the Pale Garden biome during nighttime. The new area is a sort of an ashen oak biome that has very thick tree layouts. The mobs do not spawn because of the biome particularly, but rather because of the Creaking Heart Block which is found here.
An activated Creaking Heart is only triggered at night or during a storm, which will then spawn the Creaking who blend perfectly with the trees that are in abundance here.

The mob will usually just stay idle. However, they become active once you come within 12 blocks of its FoV. While you are looking straight at it, the Creaking will not attack you, however, once you turn away it will follow you and deal devastating damage.
What makes this encounter difficult to manage is the fact that the Creaking has no HP bar. So directly attacking it will not kill the mob.
How beat the Creaking in Minecraft
There are two ways to get rid of the Creaking, either by escaping its 32-block radius around th Creaking Heart or by directly beating it.
Now to beat the mob, you will need to look for the Creaking Heart. It’s an orange block that you will find spawning inside the Pale Garden Biome. The heart controls the Creaking, so to defeat the mob, all you have to do is break the heart.
An easy way of locating the heart is to hit the Creaking, it will then emit particles which will lead you to the heart that is controlling it. So then reach the heart, and then destroy it to defeat the mob.
How to summon the Creaking in Minecraft
Apart from finding the mob in the wild, you will also be able to summon the Creaking in Minecraft. To do this you will need to find and place a Creaking Heart into a tree. Here are a few steps that you can follow to achieve this:
- Obtain a silk touch tool and then use it to break the Creaking Heart and collect it. If you break the heart without a silk touch tool, the heart will disappear instead and you will not be able to collect it.
- Once you have the heart, you will need to collect pale wood from the Pale Garden biome. You will need to make pale wood blocks out of it.
- Now, place the Creaking Heart in between and align it with pale wood blocks in a way that will let you activate the heart. You will know that the heart is active when it becomes orange.
- When the heart is active the Creaking will spawn around it. You can destroy the heart again to despawn the mob.

Does the Creaking drop any loot?
Unfortunately, the Creaking does not drop any loot or any experience points when they are defeated. You will, however, receive some Resin Clumps when you break the heart (apart from collecting it with silk touch tools).
Resin Clumps are used in making Resin Bricks, which are then used to make Resin Blocks that will allow you to make different structures like building walls, stairs, and more.
