“one of the worst companies” Former Halo Director has raised multiple allegations against the Microsoft game studio

Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios have found themselves in the middle of a new controversy, but this time it is not about AI. Former Halo Director, Glenn Israel, has accused the company of multiple counts of un unethical behaviour against employees.

A post appeared on Glenn’s LinkedIn social media account detailing the whole thing. If the allegations turn out to be true, then Microsoft should come under critical scrutiny because these claims are not mild in nature.

There are incidents in his claim that date as far back as 2024 and tie into his departure, which was in late 2025. Gamers online, especially in the Halo side of the community, are severely disappointed with this new revelation. But there are also some who are criticizing Glenn for being so late with these allegations.

Allegations point towards harassment and favoritism

Glenn Israel was one of the senior members working at Microsoft’s Halo studios for almost 17 years. He was originally a developer at Bungie and had worked with the team back then, as a core developer behind the first Halo title in 2008.

Other achievements under his belt include Halo Reach and Halo 3: ODST, later joining 343 Industries, which took over the development of the franchise in the future. Glenn’s allegations came months after he had already left the studio.

But over the course of his involvement in the last few years of the studio, he claims to have seen all kinds of unethical activities. These allegations point to harassment, fraud, and even favoritism from the upper management in the Halo studios.

Other developers from Halo studio came forward in support

Glenn said during his time at the studio, he experienced “campaigns designed to provoke the constructive discharge of “unwanted” employees otherwise in good standing,” and “representatives engaged in a four-day-long act of harassment intended to manufacture a cause for” his termination.

The complaints reached BRI and Microsoft’s Workplace Investigation Team, but were shut down by the Global Employee Relations representative as they had been returned as “out of scope”. Glenn has not been alone while in this fight; other Halo developers came forward to chime in with his allegations.

Online gamers had long since lost any form of favorable opinions for the Halo studios, but that was mostly due to the choices that were made for the recent games. These allegations have opened up a new can of worms, which will not bring forth any kind of positive opinion towards the studio in the future.
