Game Freak’s upcoming Pokemon title, Pokemon Legends Z-A is rumored to launch sometime later this year, supposedly for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The game is expected to launch in Q2 2025, bringing much needed improvements and optimizations to the series.
A trailer is likely to be released on Pokemon Day, but there have already been a series of leaks that have detailed quite a bit of information about the game. More on these leaks in the sections below.

All we know about Pokemon Legends Z-A so far
When does Pokemon Legends Z-A release?
As per recent leaks, Pokemon Legends Z-A is expected to launch sometime in July 2025, as a Nintendo Switch 2 title.
Pokemon Legends Z-A starters
As is with any major Pokemon game, players will be presented with a set of 3 starters to choose from. This time around, the following 3 starters are expected to be revealed:
- Snivy: Grass Type/Generation V Pokemon
- Sobble: Water Type/Generation VIII Pokemon
- Torchic: Fire Type/Generation III Pokemon
Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Evolutions
Mega Evolutions are expected to make a comeback in Z-A. In particular, this year’s Pokemon Day is expected to showcase Mega Evolutions for Nidoqueen and Nidoking, in addition to Mega Flygon.
