In short, Grow a Garden revolves around building a farm of your own – complete with crops. These crops must be grown and harvested, and thereby sold for a profit. The game also features a sort of PvP system – wherein the progress of other players’ farms can be viewed.
Other than this ‘leaderboard’, Grow a Garden is strictly a single-player game.
There are three main zones:
- Garden: Consists of a 3×2 grid of soil where crops can be grown.
- Seed Vendor: Can purchase crop seeds from here.
- Merchant: Sell your produce to this particular NPC.
Once you are in the garden, move around using the WASD keys. Space can be used to jump, and E is used to interact with the crops.
As far as the gameplay is concerned, players must first begin by grabbing a seed. Seeds determine which plant will be produced, and can be single-use (Carrots) or multi-use (Strawberries).
The Seed Shop also sells some rather exotic variants, which can be quite hard to get your hands on at first. The shop does rotate its selections though, so be patient – or spend Robux to directly buy any seed you desire.
Of course, growing seeds requires a bit of effort, which is where gear comes into play. You will acquire a set amount of gear as you play through the game – which can in turn be used to grow healthier plants.
Once the crop has matured, it is time to harvest it. As a general rule of thumb, the heavier the crop, the more value it fetches. Additionally, crops can also grow via mutations to produce some exotic breeds which fetch a higher price.
Another thing to keep in mind are weather events. These are random, server-wide events that can apply a bonus modifier to your crop, enhancing its value further.
