In Rune Slayer you will be able to pet and tame certain animals as you progress through the narrative and explore the world. However, not all animals can be tamed in the Roblox game, and there is also a certain condition that you will need to meet to be able to pet them.
So if you are looking to make the most of the petting system in Rune Slayer, the guide below will help you out.
How to tame every pet in Rune Slayer

Before we move onto the list of animals that you can pet here are a few things that you will need to keep in mind:
- Not all animals in Rune Slayer can be tamed. Currently, there are only 13 creatures that you will be able to pet.
- Not all classes are capable of taming every animal. The classes that have the ‘Alpha Predator’ skill will be able to tame the most dangerous animals in Rune Slayer.
- Every creature has a different success rate when it comes to taming. Where fairies have a 100% chance of being tamed, other animals like Wolves and Bears have a considerably lower success rate.
Here is a list of all the animals that you can tame in Rune Slayer, their location, and how you can pet them:
Animal | Location | How ot Tame | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Slime | Wilderness | Feed them Slime Chunks which can be obtained by killing slimes | The most basic pets in Rune Slayer who are readily found in the Wilderness and can be very easily tamed. |
Black Ooze | Caves | Black Ooze can be tamed by feeding them Black Ooze Chunks which can be found by slaying Black Ooze. | This is a variation of the normal slime and can also be very easily tamed. |
Deer | Pinewood Thickets | Deer can be tamed by feeding them apples which can be found on treed in Wayshrine. | Deers are non-hostile mobs in Rune Slayer. They are very easily tamed by apples and you can also ride them allowing you great mobility to get around the map. |
Wolf | Pinewood Thickets | Feed them Raw Deer Meat | Wolves are a very strong pet in Rune Slayer who can be found in the Pinewood Thickets. They do not have a 100% success rate in taming so you might need to have a lot of deer meat in your inventory to be able to pet one. |
Bear | Pinewood Thickets | – Feed Honey.- Use Beast Tamer Skill. | Bears are another hostile group that you will be able to tame in Rune Slayer. Their spawn is much lower than wolves and you will atleast need 20+ honey to be able to tame one. |
Boar | Wilderness | Feed Raw Bass | Boars are a pretty non-aggressive mob who can be easily tamed with around 10 Raw Bass. As you can also ride them, they are a great traversal option in the game. |
Beaver | Pinewood Thickets | Feed them Oak Logs which can be obtained by cutting down Oak Trees | Beavers can be spotted in the waterbodies near Pinewood Thicket. While they won’t provide much in terms of combat support, they can be ridden and used to go around the map faster. |
Alligator | Greatwood Swamp | Alligator can be petted by feeding them Raw Serpent Meat which can be found in Greatwood Swamp. | Alligators are incredibly dangerous and aggressive creatures in Rune Slayer. They have a very low success rate when it comes to taming and it’s recommended that you only try and pet them when you have a strong build going. |
Bee | Pinewood Thickets | Bees are tamed by feeding them honey. | Bees appear when you go to collect Honey Combs from trees. They will look to attack you as soon as they spawn so make sure you already have a good amount of honey in our inventory when looking to tame them. |
Fairy/Golden Fairy | Greatwood Swamps | Fairies are tamed by just touching them. | Fairies have a very low spawn rate and the spawn rate of their Golden variant is even lower. However, they are easy to tame and have a 100% success rate. You tame them by just touching them. |
Spider | Goblin Caves | You will need to use the Beast Tamer skill to tame spiders. | Spiders are found in the Caves of Rune Slayer. They are a very hostile mob and will require you to have the Beast Tamer skill equipped for you to pet them. |
Mud Crab | Greatwood Swamps | – Feed Black Bass.- Use Beast Tamer Skill | Mud Crabs are another hostile race of animals in Rune Slayer and to pet them you will need to have the Beast Tamer Skill and feed them Black Bass. As the success rate is low, you will need atlast 15 Black Bass to tame one. |
Panther | Pinewood Thickets | – Feed Animal Heart (obtained as a drop sometimes when killing animal mobs)- Use Beast Tamer Skill. | Panthers are extremely rare and extremely hostile. You will find them occasionally in Pinewood Thickets and they are the hardest animal to tame in Rune Slayer. Animal Heart is a very rare resource and you will need a lot of them to tame just one Panther. |
