With The First Descendant finally getting its official release, you might just be looking to make the most of its social features, including crossplay. The free-to-play co-op shooter is one of the biggest launches this month, and there are many in the community who are excited to try it out with friends who are on a different platform.
Below is a guide on everything you need to know about The First Descendant’s crossplay feature and how you will be able to enjoy the title with friends who are not on the same platform as you.
Does The First Descendant feature crossplay?
The First Descendant will indeed allow players from different platforms to play with each other. These platforms include PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Does The First Descendant have cross-progression?
Along with crossplay, The First Descendant will also feature cross-progression. So if you frequently switch between platforms in live-service titles, you will be able to carry over your character as well as your save from one platform to the next.
Just ensure you have logged into your main Nexon account and you will be ready to go.
How to add and play different platforms in The First Descendant

The First Descendant’s social features are pretty easy to navigate and it won’t take you long to add friends from different platforms and nearby players to your list.
To be able to add friends to your social list you will need to:

- Here you will find two options: “Player Search” and “Request Received”
- In Player Search, you will be able to enter a Player ID and then send them a request to be a part of your socials list.
- Under Request Received, you will see the friend requests that have gotten instead. So if a friend is trying to add you, all you need to do is to accept their request.
Irrespective of the platform that the player is on you will be able to add them by using their Player ID.
Additionally, if you want to add a player to your list whom you found in-game then you will need to:
- Walk up to them and then press the interaction prompt. It’s “T” by default on keyboard and mouse.
- This will then pop up a social menu and you can select “Friend Request” from the available options.
- Click on it and you will be able to add them to your socials list.
