The First Descendant players elated after devs promise to not nerf broken builds

The First Descendant released on July 2, and players have already discovered a Gley build that is so broken that it never runs out of ammo, and can melt bosses instantly.

There’s no doubt that the community is enjoying this build, and their only concern was that the developers would nerf it. However, as mentioned in the patch notes for The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.2, the devs have reassured the community that they won’t be nerfing any build.

Not just that, the devs also pointed out that there are even more broken builds that the community is yet to discover. In this regard, KyoTP took to Reddit to compare the difference between The First Descendant and Destiny 2, and how they react to such scenarios.

Players shared their appreciation for the devs because this just shows that they thoroughly test their game including how balanced all the possible builds in the game are.

One player said, “The key take away is they knew about this and know about whatever is stronger thus they have already accounted for both in their balancing,” while another added, “I wish [the] Helldivers balance team had this outlook. I’m pretty shocked that a game which has reason to make things take longer would encourage you to use powerful meta builds.”

Players also pointed out that other developers could adopt a similar outlook to balancing, but they wouldn’t because their form of content included nerfing and buffing builds to make old content relevant.

A third player said, “The fact the devs said infinite ammo build Gley is cool and all but there is stronger builds yall haven’t discovered is so funny to me.”

With The First Descendant still new in the genre, fans seem to be reacting positively to it so far. However, the game does have a long way to go, and players hope that the developers will hold on to this outlook in the coming months too.
