3 things to spend Gold on first in Path of Exile 2

Gold is a common resource in Path of Exile 2, and is your best (and most common) way of buying items via vendors. Gold can also be used for major character progression elements, such as respecing your skill tree.

Path of Exile 2 mandates a steady flow of the item for an ideal, optimized experience which can be quite difficult to get your hands on in the early game.  As such, being a bit stingy with the item is recommended.

You can find a list of the top 3 things to spend Gold while you dive into PoE 2 detailed below, which should be beneficial, especially for newcomers.

The best uses for Gold in Path of Exile 2

Purchase Scrolls of Wisdom

Make sure to grab a ton of Scrolls of Wisdom in Path of Exile 2, especially at the start of the game. Identifying Magic and Rare items requires the Scroll of Wisdom, which are in turn needed for item acquisition and general upgrades.

Scrolls of Wisdom do however, lose their value once you go through a fair chunk of the early game and meet with the Hooded One. The Hooded One will identify items for absolutely no cost at all, so don’t overinvest in these Scrolls.

Each scroll costs 25 Gold.

High tier Flasks, Gear and Charms

Vendors will occasionally sell quite a few noteworthy items – including Magic/Rare gear pieces. Additionally, these also come equipped with a set of Modifiers which makes them even more useful to have.

Directly buying gear from vendors against Gold is a cheap yet effective way to stock up on some early level equips.

You can also buy Flasks and Charms from certain vendors. While not necessarily better than some of the Flasks/Charms you can find laid out in the wild, these are much easier to obtain.

Respeccing Skill Points

By far the most use you will get out of Gold is in respeccing your Passive Skills. Gold is used to respec or rest your skill point and start over fresh with a new build – without overwriting a character save.

Refunding a skill point will set you back by 250 Gold – which significantly adds up over time once you hit the endgame.
