The Resource Gathering system in Throne and Liberty plays a key role in your progression, especially when you are looking to min-max your character for the late game. Gathering will help you get your hands on key resources that you will be able to use for crafting high-tier gear as well as obtain ingredients for cooking recipes.
Here is a guide on everything you need to know about the Gathering system in the MMO, and how you will be able to make the most of the mechanic while making your way across Solisium.
How to Gather Resources in Throne and Liberty

To be able to gather resources you will need to find a spot containing a node of what you are looking to harvest, this can be either a mushroom, a plant, a wood thump, etc.
Once you approach the node, you will receive a prompt to press F (PC)/ Square (PS)/ X (Xbox) to start the Gathering animation. When the animation is done, the resource will automatically be added to your inventory.
Other alternate ways of Gathering Resources will be to:
- Kill enemies: They will often drop crafting mats like Salt, Leather, and Magithread along with other exclusive resource drops.
- Open Resource Crates in Dungoens: You will often come across resource crates in dungeons which will let you get your hands on a lot of materials.
- Completing events: Events like the Wold Hunting Contest in Blackhowl Plains will give you an increased drop chance of leather.
- Amitoi Expeditions: After you unlock the Amitoi House, you will be able to send your Amitoi out on expeditions. Once their mission is over they will return with key crafting resources and cooking ingredients.
Important things to keep in mind when Gathering Resources
When you are out gathering and foraging for resources in Throne and Liberty, here are a few things that you will need to keep in mind:
1) Types of resources are displayed on the minimap
If you check the upper right corner of your interface you will notice that the minimap displays the various types of resources with the items that they provide. A small leaf icon designates Wild Herb, while a Log will point you toward a Lumber node.
So make sure you are familiarizing yourself with the icons while you are making your way through the open world.
2) Every resource node is a one-time use
All the resource nodes that you see in the overworld are a one-time use. This means that the player who gets to them first will receive the materials. An exception to this fact is the resources that spawn during the Gigantrite and other similar events.
3) Resource nodes are procedural in Throne and Liberty
Resource nodes are procedural in this MMO. This means that the same node will not respawn on the same spot once they have been harvested. However, they will re-appear in the general area. So you will not have to look far once these nodes replenish.
4) Climate affects resource nodes
The climate of the area you are in will affect the resources that you are looking to gather. For example, if it’s raining when you are trying to pick Wild Herbs, you will receive “Blooming Wild Herbs” instead. This is an upgraded version of the ingredient and will be shinier, yielding more and better resources. These changes nodes will also have their exclusive icons on the minimap.
5) Gathering animation can be interrupted
If hostile enemies attack you when you are harvesting nodes, then the gathering animation can be interrupted once you receive enough damage. So it’s always a good idea to clear out the surrounding area before you start the gathering process.

Planning an optimal resource-gathering route will let you get your hands on a fair bit of resources in a short time. Try investing some time every day to harvest the nodes.
2) Get familiar with the resource types
There are a variety of resource types in Throne and Liberty, so make sure you are familiar with their icons and when and under which conditions they spawn.

Joining a Gathering Guild can significantly maximize your resource gain every day. So make sure you join one if you are looking to focus a fair bit on crafting.
