“The voice behind the mask” is a Codex entry that you will be able to complete once you have made your way into the Sandworm Lair in Throne and Liberty. The area is located to the northeast of Vienta Village and is part of the desert region of the MMO.
The recommended level for this is 35, and while Codex entries in general are very easy to complete, this mission, however, is a tad bit complicated. There are multiple steps to completing it and if you are struggling with “The voice behind the masl” the guide below will help you out.
How to complete “The voice behind the mask” Codex quest in Throne and Liberty
Here are a few steps that you will need to follow to complete “The voice behind the mask” mission in Throne and Liberty:
1) Head to the Sandworm Lair Waypoint and talk to the Mysterious Mask
To activate the quest you will need to make your way to the north of the Sandworm lair Waypoint. You will find a rock bridge, there and the quest marker will lead you to the mask which is perched on top of it.
Speak to it and an orb of light will appear behind you. Interact with it and a line of light will appear out of it. Follow the line to reach another orb of light, and interact with it to start another line. Keep following the lines from the orbs till you reach the “Unknown Rift”.
2) Interact with the Unkown Rift to head to the other side
Things get a bit complicated when you reach the Unknown Rift. Interact with it and some platforms will appear that you will need to use to get to the other side.
make sure you memorize the pattern of the platform, this is because once you step on the first time and start your journey, fake platforms will start appearing along the path. If you step onto the fake one, you will fall and have to start over.

Once you have made your way to the other side of the cliff, you will be able to start the next part of the “The voice behind the mask” Codex entry quest in Throne and Liberty.
3) Survive the Sandstorm for 30 Seconds
Once you reach the other side, you will now have to go up against sand tornadoes. You will stuck in an area and the goal here will be to survive for 30 seconds and not get hit by the tornadoes that are around you.
However, do keep in mind that the number of tornadoes appearing will go up as time progresses, making survival harder. Once you have lived through the 30 seconds, you will be going up against the Crystal Scorpion.
4) Take out the Crystal Scorpion
Once you survive the tornadoes you will be going up against a level 37 Crystal Tornado. The boss has a 26,000 HP pool and can use a shield that will let it absorb all damage that you throw at it. It’s one of the harder encounters that you will face in the mid-game, however, there is a neat trick you can try to make defeating it significantly easier.
The Crystal Scorpion will usually spawn scarabs which will explode after you deplete their HP. If you can make them explode near the scorpion, then the boss is going to receive a lot of damage. This will also help lower the scorpion’s shield and once it’s down, you will be able to unleash your best skill rotations.
However, do watch out for the Scorpion’s tornado attack. It will often do a massive AoE and if you are caught up in it, the attack will deplete your entire health bar. So when it’s channeling the ability, just make sure that you are creating some distance from it to avoid the attack.
Beating the scorpion will take some practice but once you have its timing down, you will be able to easily beat it.
5) Read the journal
Once you have beaten the Ancient Crystal Scorpion you will find two pedestals in the area. Make your way to it and then read “the journal”Ancient Writing” which is on the left pedestal. Once you have done it, you will discover who the mysterious man is behind the mask.
Then talk to Dantalux Guardian and accept its pledge to round out “The voice behind the mask” mission in Throne and Liberty.
