There are some incredible games releasing in the month of April, which everyone should keep an eye out for. 2026 is already packed with some of the most anticipated games, a few of which have been released, and some are still on the way.
In the list below, we will be recommending to you some of our handpicked games that are releasing this April, and you should keep an eye out for them.
Best Games Releasing This April
All Will Fall (April 3rd)

This first one on the list is a bit of a different kind of title and steps back from mainstream appreciation. This one is especially curated for the audiences who love Colony Sims and City Builders. All Will Fall takes a more unrealistic and postapocalyptic approach to the genre.
You take control of colonies built on top of the ocean, which changes the whole dynamic of resource management compared to other kinds of Colony sims. Developed by All Parts Connected and tinyBuild, the game will be released on the 3rd of next month.
Spark in the Dark (April 7th)

If you have been missing some good old medieval-style dungeon crawling, then we are afraid we can’t get you another Dark Souls. But the next best thing would be Spark in the Dark, which is releasing on April 7th.
Developed by the indie studio Stellar Fish, this looks like it’s going to be an incredible isometric experience, which echoes back to the good old dungeon crawlers of yesteryears. It also goes into elements of horror as players keep exploring the depths of the dungeon.
Samson (April 8th)

Unreal Engine action games, which seek to emulate the design of major AAA games such as titles from PlayStation’s studios and Rockstar Games, have been kind of a disappointment because they are either getting canceled or coming out with bugs enough to tarnish the release reputation.
Still, the search for a perfect action-adventure game from fresh developers will never end. This is why you should look forward to Samson releasing on April 8th. Developed and published by indie studios Liquid Swords.
Samson could be the next big action game you get to play right before Grand Theft Auto VI releases towards the end of this year.
Replaced (April 14th)

Action games are not limited to just 3D titles these days. 2D sprite-based games have been on the rise again because of indie development gaining traction in the last few decades. The demand for retro gaming is now more than hyper-realistic AAA games.
Replaced is such a kind of title that gamers have been looking forward to for a while, and it is finally releasing this April 14th. Players step into the shoes of an AI trapped in a human body whose sole mission is to expose the secrets of a sinister organization.
Mouse: P.I. for Hire (April 16th)

In 2017, developer MDHR studios released a 2D side-scrolling game called Cuphead, which became an instant hit not just for its gameplay but also for its charming art style. People realized that they really love the whimsical cartoon animation from the 40s.
There has not been another game in the industry that can be called a successor to Cuphead from the perspective of art style. But all of that is changing with the release of Mouse: P.I. for Hire this April 16th.
Players take control of a private investigator for hire in the middle of the 1930s cartoonish noir style era. A fun first-person shooter that is not your regular boomer shooter nor a multiplayer esports title.
Pragmata (April 17th)

Capcom is the one developer who has been on a roll for the last decade. With their incredible RE engine, they have brought back some of their prestigious IPs into the spotlight, and there is nothing stopping them from doing more.
Pragmata is going to be one of their most experimental game launches on April 17th, which has a lot of fan hopes riding behind it, and the initial reactions to the demo look really good. The game takes on an interesting style of design where players will need to fight AI enemies.
You shoot and dodge through them while the adorable AI companion, Diana, assists you in hacking. This creates some interesting moment-to-moment gameplay decisions.
Vampire Crawlers (April 21st)

Vampire Survivors took the world for a spin when it released back in 2022, completely flipping the perspective on what a bullet hell game is. This title popularized the bullet heaven genre in an era where it should not have been possible because we have come long past the 8-bit gaming years.
Now it seems like developer Poncle is on track again to drop another hit with Vampire Crawlers, releasing on April 21st. This time, we are not shooting at swarms of enemies. But we are dungeon-crawling through these enemies with a card-based battle system, which looks like it might just become the next big thing.
Kiln (April 23rd)

Kiln first appeared on an Xbox partner showcase earlier this year and immediately grabbed everyone’s attention. That is because this title comes from the people at Double Fine Productions.
The developers are known for titles such as Psychonauts 2 and Gang Beasts. So obviously there’s a lot riding on their belt. Kiln seems like it is going to be an absolute culmination of everything the developers have been working towards.
A fun multiplayer game where players fight each other in the form of their own clay creations. Kiln drops late in the month of April on the 23rd.
Invincible VS (April 30th)

Invincible was a niche comic book series that got picked up by Amazon and has become a really popular animated series, spawning multiple media. One of which we should keep an eye out for on April 30th.
Developers Quarter Up took it upon themselves to bring the animated universe of the show to gamers as a fighting game. Inspired by NRS’s Injustice games and from the minds behind 2013’s Killer Instinct, this arcade experience might just become the next big fighting game in the esports scene.
Saros (April 30th)

Unfortunately for Invincible VS, PlayStation players might have some other plans on April 30th. Because the next big exclusive from one of Sony’s studios is dropping on the same date. Saros will be consuming the lives of every Housemarque fan.
Taking from the ideas that were already present in 2021’s Returnal, this new title almost feels like a sequel because of how they are improving upon the game’s design. Saros will have players in the same situation as last time, rushing and dodging through third-person perspective bullet hell with high and intense boss fights.
