Comic Book villains should have their own games. It’s always the superheroes that get their own games. While there are some anti-heroes who might get games based on them sometimes. But villains in general are always outcasts.
We made a list compiling some of the popular comic book villains and anti-heroes who should get their own games already.
Villains Who Should Have Their Own Comic Book Games
Venom

Venom is one of the first characters that comes to mind when talking about villains who should have their own games. Other comic book heroes surrounding the character have already had their fair share of popular games.
It’s not like Venom has not been in video games before. He has been appearing in video games since the 90s, in arcade side-scrolling games. His recent appearance was in Marvel’s Spider-Man, where he was the arch-nemesis. Players even got to play as him in a small segment.
But Venom can be beyond just a mindless monster or a villain, as we have seen in his solo stories. As well as his solo films, he played the role of Eddie Brock, as depicted by the actor Tom Hardy. A solo game around the character would be very interesting.
Doctor Doom

The only real good depiction of Doctor Doom that we have seen in video games has to be in the fighting games. Marvel vs Capcom fans have their own Doctor Doom fanbase who may not even know the character. But everyone is a fan of finger lasers and footdives.
But let’s be real, exploring stories surrounding the comic book character can be really interesting. Being one of the most notorious villains out there, and considering his megalomaniac personality, an interesting game can be made.
Doctor Doom has appeared in games outside his greater fighting game genre presence. But only as a minor super villain in Fantastic Four tie-in movies.
Deathstroke

Deathstroke is one of the best assassin characters in the DC universe. An arch-nemesis to Batman and his peers. Though it has not been deliberately stated, Marvel’s Deadpool is an anti-hero who was inspired by Deathstroke.
Over time, Deadpool has become a popular character due to his humorous quips and 4th wall breaking. He has his own movies as well as solo video games. It is unfair to the progenitor design i.e., Deathstroke, to not get his own video game ever.
A stealth action game in the style of Hitman or Metal Gear Solid can be a good game design idea for the villain. The immersive sim genre can never have too many games, and a Deathstroke video game sounds like an enticing idea.
Harley Quinn

The character of Harley Quinn has evolved a lot over the years. At first, she was just another jobber chess piece for the Joker. An errand girl who used to do his bidding was madly head over heels for him.
But at the present date, she is a very different character with different motivations and love interests. She has long come out of the shadows of a villain such as Joker and has her own solo animated series as well as comics.
It’s high time the character got her own video game as an anti-hero character. The blueprint is already there because Harley recently had her playable debut in the Suicide Squad video game.
Mystique

Mystique is a popular villain appearing mostly in Marvel’s X-Men comics. She is a mutant with the superpower to shapeshift at will. That alone gives us a premise to design some incredible games.
Game devs can do wonders with Mystique’s backstory and ideas. Maybe an espionage and infiltration game. We have already seen potential in that kind of game through the ages in games such as the Hitman series.
Even though we say that Mystique is a villain, she is also an antihero at times, with her own conflicts she has to face. She has some incredible stories around her throughout the entire history of Marvel comics. That is also why she should have her own video game.
Black Cat

Not to be mistaken with Cat Woman, which most people, oblivious about Comic Books, do. That is a DC character, the Marvel counterpart, and mostly the femme fatale to Spider-Man’s stories is Black Cat.
Felicia Hardy has been a villain, as well as a hero, throughout multiple eras of Spider-Man stories. She has even appeared in video games as an acquaintance or a character with provocative sub-stories.
It’s a shame that she has not gotten her own video game yet. This is considering the fact that Insomniac’s Spider-Man already made her a major character, assisting in the world-building.
She definitely needs to keep up with DC’s Catwoman, who already made her solo debut in movies and games before.
Loki

We may be normal and willing to understand how most of the villains on this list don’t have a video game yet. But it’s almost baffling when we think about how Loki did not get one yet.
Yes, the character recently got mainstream popularity due to the prolific actor Tom Hiddleston’s depictions in the movies. But over the course of time, we have learned that Loki is an important part of the Marvel mythos.
He is more than just another Avengers issue #1 villain of the day. Loki has his own conflicts and goals that were explored in his own live-action series. Marvel needs to catch up with the times because there can be a great made of the character.
Clayface

Clayface is another comic book character who has the superpower to shape-shift. But he is from the DC universe, and he isn’t really as attractive a design as Mystique for the purpose of fan service.
But don’t let that idea take you away from the fact that he is another perfect villain candidate for a video game. Clayface is a classic Batman villain, often working best in the backdrop of noir era aesthetics. This is a good setting for video games.
Not to mention the fact that the character is already getting his own solo movie. A video game would be perfect as a tie-in release, just like how it used to be back in the day.
Morbius

Most of the world knows about Morbius through the infamous Jared Leto film. It did quite a number among pop culture communities with a plethora of hilarious memes. But it is also astonishing how no one knows that he is a comic villain, specifically from Marvel.
Morbius is a major anti-hero in the Spider-Man mythos; his powers are literally vampirism as he mutated himself into one. Dr. Michael Morbius was looking to cure his rare blood disease, but ended up contracting a lifelong curse.
Vampires are not isolated to video games, as we have already discussed before in other topics. There are some really good video games out there where people get to play these dangerous beings. Why should Morbius be left out? He should definitely get his own video game.
Dex-starr

What if we tell you that there is a serious comic book super villain that’s a rage-filled cat? It should have its own video game, would you believe us? Well, for those who don’t keep up with the Green Lantern mythos in the DC universe, we have the perfect feline character.
Dex-Starr was once an Earth cat, loved by his owner. But one day, she gets murdered by a burglar. Dex-Starr was rendered unable to do anything about the situation; he got tossed around by humans.
Filled with rage in his eyes, the red lantern ring found him and fueled his fire for vengeance. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect plot for a video game based around a cat?
