Given the rarity of Gemstones, it should come as no surprise that they are some of the most sought after materials in Runescape Dragonwilds. After all, these precious materials are absolutely necessary for crafting high level gear and weapons – which in turn can help you fare better against stronger threats.

Where to get all gemstones in Runescape Dragonwilds
It should be noted here that obtaining gemstones isn’t possible from the get-go in Runescape Dragonwilds. Players must first unlock the ‘Gemstone Prospector’ ability, which increases your odds of obtaining a gemstone while mining specific Ore Nodes.
However, players must be at a Mining Skill level of 16 or higher in order to have this ability unlocked.
With that in mind, here are the known locations for each gemstone:
- Opal: Fractured Plains (Tin and Copper ore)
- Sapphire: Bloodblight Swamp (Gold ore)
- Red Topaz: Bloodblight Swamp (Silver ore)
- Jade: Stormtouched Highlands (Iron ore)
Opal can be found scattered within the Fractured Plains. Search for Copper and Tin ore nodes to have a small chance at obtaining the Opal gemstone. Make sure to deal with enemies along the way – these usually have Poison affinities.
You will also require a Bone Pickaxe to mine the ore.
Gold ore nodes can be mined for a small chance to net Sapphire gemstones. These nodes are located within the east section of Ashenfall (in the Bloodblight Swamp). Cast the ‘Rocksplosion’ spell on ore nodes to hasten the collection process.
This is a particularly dangerous region, so make sure you are well equipped with poison resist spells and potions beforehand.
Red Topaz can also be found within the Bloodblight Swamp, but requires players to mine Silver ore nodes instead. Interestingly, Silver nodes can be found right next to the Gold nodes, so both gemstones can be simultaneously farmed from this particular region.
Just make sure to have poison resistance equipped before setting foot there.
On the other hand, Jade gemstones must be acquired from Iron ores. Iron ores are located within the Stormtouched Highlands. Much like the Bloodblight Swamp, this region is quite dangerous to traverse. Level 4 enemies patrol the area, and can be quite a nuisance for the ill-prepared.
Explore the region and make ample use of the Rocksplosion spell on every node you encounter.
