Crownless: Newborn Desires is one of the World Bosses in Wuthering Waves. These are not compulsory fights, but you will eventually need them for their character ascension drops.
Crownless appears at level 35 in Wuthering Waves, and is one of the many World Bosses available in this open-world title.
This World Boss is an aggressive enemy, and will also resort to airborne attacks every once in a while. The key to this fight is to use your intro and outro skills effectively to reduce the distance and deal as much damage as possible.
Wuthering Waves Crownless: Newborn Desires boss fight overview

- Location: Stone Pile Plain
- Elemental type: Electro
- Optional: Yes, it is a World Boss, you can fight it whenever you want.
- Modes: Melee attacker with a spear, can become airborne and use ranged attacks from time to time.
- Weaknesses: Currently unknown
- Exclusive drops: Strife Tacet Core, Crownless Echo
Overall, Crownless: Newborn Desires is not an easy fight, as the boss is quite tanky and has a plethora of attacks up its sleeve. The most annoying aspect of this fight is its aerial mode, during which it is exceptionally mobile which renders most of your attacks ineffective.
Crownless appears at level 35 and its attacks are very heavy hitting. Having low level characters is absolutely going to let the boss decimate your team, so have your characters set to level 40 at least before taking on this fight. Upgrading weapons is also very important, however, your support character can have a lesser weapon level if needed.
Dodging the attacks, causing Crownless to stagger, and using as much DPS output as possible will allow you tackle this fight with ease.
How to find Crownless: Newborn Desires in Wuthering Waves?

The Crownless can be found on the north western part of the map, in an area adjoining the Stone Pile Plain. The easiest way to reach this boss is to unlock the Resonance Beacon at Huanglong-Gorges of Spirits-Memento Square.
From here, look to the east and you should see a small stairway leading to a cliff. Jump down from this cliff to find a Tacit Discord opening. Interact with the Resonance Chord here to spawn and begin the fight with Crownless: Newborn Desires.
Crownless: Newborn Desires movesets

This boss has two different modes, and it will switch between them randomly in the fight. When you start the fight, Crownless will always appear in the aerial mode, and will swoop down immediately to land. The swooping down can deal damage if it hits you, so move away from the center of the Resonance Chord after you interact with it.
The two modes and the attacks they contain are:
- Grounded mode: Crownless uses a spear-like weapon to deal insane damage. Its attacks are mostly using the spear to deal damage by striking you, thrusting the spear at you, and one AOE attack where it does a 360 spin-like animation with his spear. All the attacks can be parried, if timed correctly.
- Aerial mode: In this mode, Crownless is much more aggressive, and will continuously swoop down in a dive-like animation to deal damage with his spear. He will also do full spins in the air with the spear to deal an AOE attack that can deal a significant amount of damage. This combo is ended with a ranged thunder-tornado-ish attack that goes in a straight line. Dodging these can be a bit tricky as Crownless’s onslaught leaves little time to do multiple actions.
How to beat Crownless: Newborn Desires in Wuthering Waves

Beating Crownless requires properly utilizing parries, spamming your abilities, properly using your Intro and Outro skills, and managing their downtime effectively.
Here are some detailed tips to help you along the way:
- Parry attacks: A concentric halo appears when the Crownless is going to attack. If you can time it right, you will be able to parry the Crownless easily, which will also deal a significant amount of Stagger damage. Use this as much as possible when the boss is in the grounded mode.
- Stagger: Try to deplete the stagger bar as soon as possible to maximize your damage output and render the boss stunned. This is the ideal time to use all your combos, inherent skills, and any other mechanic you know that can deal huge damage. Basically, stagger the enemy to deal free damage without taking any yourself.
- Use Intro and Outro Skills: One of Wuthering Waves’ most prominent features is the Intro and Outro skills. Keep and eye out on your character’s Concerto energies and swap them out at the right times. If done right, this can not only deal a good chunk of damage, but can also dodge the enemy’s attack and close the distance between the two of you.
- Have a healing Echo Skill: If you know how to dodge and parry properly, then heals would not be an issue in Wuthering Waves at all. However, for those who haven’t yet adjusted to the game, keeping an Echo Skill with healing abilities can be beneficial, as a few solid strikes from the Crownless can knock your Resonator out cold.
Party recommendations for defeating Crownless: Nameless Desires
Wuthering Waves does not have elemental weaknesses, but they can be beneficial while dealing specific types of damages. Against the electro-element Crownless, we went with a team of Fusion, Aero, and Glacio, with Fusion type Encore as the main DPS unit.
Although the Electro-element’s weaknesses are not fully known, Fusion type did good damage against Crownless, while Glacio type seemed to deplete the stagger meter faster. Overall, for this fight, a team of two DPS units and one support unit is recommended.
