There are a lot of animal-related side quests in Wuthering Waves with the Listen to Animal’s Words asking you to decipher the language of certain animals in the RPG. This series of sub-missions will ask you to translate the languages of a Cat, then a Rabbit, and finally a Dog.
The quest is provided by the NPC Xuanyin in Jinzhou and after completing them you will be rewarded with a fair bit of Union EXP, Astrite, and Shell Credits.

How to start the Listen to Animal’s Words quest in Wuthering Waves

To start the Listen to Animal’s Words quest you will need to find the researcher Xuanyin. She can either be found to the northeast of Jinzhou or the southwest of the town.
If you find her to the northeast, you will start the questline with “Translation of Cat’s Language”. If you find her in the South, interacting with her will start the “Translation of Dog’s Language”.
How to complete Listen to Animal’s Words: Translation of Cat’s Language

You will find Xuanyin to the northeast of Jinzhou trying to speak to a cat. Interact with her to accept the quest, your objective will be to make Milky Fish Soup. To make it you will need to:
- Head to the quest marker which will lead to a cooking stove.
- Interact with it to bring out the recipes that you have unlocked thus far.
- You will see the Milky Fish Soup option. Click on it and craft it by using the following ingredients:
- Fish
- Angelica
- Perilla
- Finally, head back to Xuan to deliver the item to her.
Interact with her to exhaust all of her dialog options which will complete the Translation of Cat’s Language quest in Wuthering Waves, and you will get the following rewards:
- 20x Union EXP
- 10x Astrite
- 2x Medium Resonance Potion
- 1x Medium Energy Core
- 6,000x Shell Credits
How to complete Listen to Animal’s Words: Translation of Rabbit’s Language

For the next Wuthering Waves Listen to Animal’s Words quest you will find Xuanyin spying on a Green Rabbit. You will find the researcher right outside town, just to the north of Jinzhou by the main road.
Once you interact with her she will ask you to get a Pearl Leaf which will help her initiate her research with the Rabbit’s Language. You will find the leaf in the area just above Xuanyin.
So head up there and go across the Ox’s location where you will spot field of blue flowers. Here you will find a leaf that is yellowish-brown and much bigger than the surrounding foliage.
Additionally, you can even purchase the leaf from Shifang Pharmacy which is located to the south of Jinzhou.
After obtaining the item bring it back to Xuanyin. Exhaust all of her dialogs to complete the Translation of Rabbit’s Language and get the following rewards:
- 20x Union EXP
- 10x Astrite
- 2x Medium Resonance Potion
- 1x Medium Energy Core
- 6,000x Shell Credits
How to complete Listen to Animal’s Words: Translation of Dog’s Language

For the Translation of Dog’s Language part of the quest you will find Xuanyin to the southwest of Jinzhou. She will be surrounded by some dogs, and upon interacting with her, she will ask you to follow the traces of the puppies with the help of a Sensor.
So equip the Sensor on the Radial Menu and then bring up the Utility Section to use it. The device will now make a smoke trail for you, so follow it till you find the dogs playing with some strangers.
You will get the “Let’s Play! Let’s Play!” translations from the dogs upon interacting with them. Now talk to Xuanyin for a final time to exhaust her dialog and round out the Listen to Animal’s Words questline in Wuthering Waves.
You will receive the following rewards upon completing Translation of Dog’s Language:
