Misfortune on a Workday is a side quest that you will encounter in Wuthering Waves where you will need to rescue a person who is calling out for help from an exile camp. The NPC you will have to save is an engineer from the Ministry of Development.
After interacting with him, you will need to guide him out of the camp while defeating enemies along the way. This side quest is rather simple and the rewards that it gives like Shell Credits and crafting materials can come in handy in the early stages of the RPG.

How to start Misfortune on a Workday in Wuthering Waves
To start Misfortune on a Workday, you will need to meet the NPC who is stuck in an exile camp. You will find the engineer to the very east of Qichi Village in Gubei Pass.
They will be calling out for help, so just interact with them and start the quest of escorting him out of the camp.
How to complete Misfortune on a Workday in Wuthering Waves
Once the quest kicks off the engineer will try to run down the valley, and you will need to escort him out.
- You will meet a group of three exiled infront of a bridge waiting to ambush you. Take them out and cross the bridge.
- Two more exiles will be on the other end. Make sure that the enemy is down before the engineer can continue.
- The engineer will then take a right to make his way down the mountain and into the river.
- Three exiles will be waiting, there so take them down to proceed towards the river.
- Once the engineer reaches the rover banks near the waterfall, you will be able to round out the quest by just talking to him.
Rewards for completing Misfortune on a Workday in Wuthering Waves
After talking to the engineer you will then need to go look for a chest that will contain your reward. So make your way to the quest marker, and you will see a closed gate blocking your way into a room by the side of a hill.
Flip the switch beside it, which should unlock the gate. Head in and interact with the chest to get:
- 10x Union EXP
- 5x Astrite
- 1x Wood Textured Shard
- 2x Medium Resonance Potion
- 2x Medium Energy Core
- 1x Sealed Tube
- 3,000x Shell Credits
