Best Assassin’s Creed Shadows ROG Ally settings

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is entirely playable on the Steam Deck, and by extension the ASUS ROG Ally. The ROG Ally is a significantly more powerful handheld gaming PC, when compared to the Steam Deck – thanks to the much more capable Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor housed within.

Regardless, getting Shadows up and running on the ROG Ally does require an extensive bit of tweaking though, and optimized settings for the same can be found detailed below.

  • AMD RSR: Off
  • CPU Boost: Disabled
  • Resolution: Keep this unchanged from 1080p
  • AMD RIS: On

Assassin’s Creed Shadows averages around 30 frames per second on the ROG Ally with these settings and a TDP of 25 W. Note that while frame generation does noticeably boost the frame rate, it does so at the cost of increased latency.

Expect around 45 minutes to an hour of gameplay on the original 2023 ROG Ally. Those with the newer, upgraded Ally X can expect around 2 hours of gameplay instead.
