Best EA FC 25 ROG Ally settings

EA FC 25 is out for PCs, bringing with it rather modest system requirements – making it quite playable on weaker systems and integrated GPUs. This makes it an ideal candidate for handheld gaming PCs such as the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X.

The best EA FC 25 ROG Ally settings as such, will take into account both battery life as well as a baseline 60 FPS+ performance target. Battery life will be prioritized over visuals; although you can always use a higher TDP preset for better visuals and performance if so required.

Optimized EA FC 25 ROG Ally settings

In-game settings

  • Resolution: 1600×900; 900p is an acceptable middle ground for performance/visuals
  • Display Mode: Fullscreen; Borderless may also be usable
  • Refresh Rate: 120 Hz; Native display refresh rate
  • Vertical Sync: Off; Always keep this disabled
  • Dynamic Resolution Scale: Off; Use individual upscaler options instead
  • Cutscene Quality: Full Frame Rate; Uncaps cutscene in-game FPS
  • Strand based Hair: Off; always keep disabled as this is particularly resource intensive on low end PCs
  • Rendering Quality: Medium; Acceptable balance between image quality and performance, especially on a 7-inch display
  • Grass Quality: Medium; Medium works best for performance – might also be worth switching to Low
  • Crowd Quality: Low; Will be exceptionally CPU intensive at higher presets and generally not worth it
  • Cloth Quality: Medium; Medium is best for visuals and performance
  • Ambient Occlusion Quality: Medium; Low is also an option
  • Motion Blur Quality: Off; keep this disabled to avoid blurriness for objects in motion

ROG Ally specific settings

  • Operating Mode: Performance (15 W)
  • Control Mode: Gamepad
  • AMD RSR: Off
  • CPU Boost: Disabled
  • Resolution: Keep this unchanged
  • AMD RIS: On
  • FPS Limiter: Disabled to take advantage of VRR
  • AFMF: Disabled
  • Recommended VRAM: 4-6 GB

The ROG Ally should easily be able to maintain high framerates with the combination of settings above, with an average battery life of about 2 hours. Those with the ROG Ally X can expect roughly double (4 hours) battery life instead.

A manual preset of 18 W might also be worth looking into for those aiming for higher than usual framerates.
