How to play Dragonball Sparking Zero on Macs

Dragonball Sparking Zero is playable on Macs with some extensive tweaking in place, making it (mostly) playable for those within the Apple ecosystem. The methods used will differ on your device’s CPU of choice though, and have varying results.

Those on Apple‘s Intel-based Macs should use Bootcamp to directly boot into a native Windows install for maximum compatibility and ease of setup.

As Bootcamp is unavailable on modern M-Series Macs, a program known as Whisky will have to be used instead. Whisky acts as a compatibility layer of sorts, allowing Windows only programs to run on Macs.

Best general settings and gotchas for Dragonball Sparking Zero on Mac

While Sparking Zero can run on Macs using Crossover and/or Whisky, do keep in mind that performance will greatly vary depending on the hardware you possess. As such, a minimum of 16 GB RAM and a Pro series M chipset is highly recommended in order to ensure a playable experience.

To boost frame rates, try dropping every setting to Low. Tweak the Resolution Scaler if required.

Keep in mind that Sparking Zero’s game speed is tied to its frame rate. Thus, ensuring a consistent 60 FPS is necessary. Additionally, the game’s online features may be inaccessible when running the game with this method.

D3DMetal and MSync are recommended to be kept enabled, if available.
