1) Get Prefabs by demolishing abandoned ruins
In the early stages of your progression, a great way of obtaining Prefabs will be to Salvage them from abandoned ruins. During the Prologue of the game, you will find these ruins towards the southwest corner and will have a brick-and-log icon over it.
So Frostbreak your way there and contact an Extraction District. The workers will then gather up to 400 Prefabs from the deposit.
Moreover, you can recycle Prefabs by dismantling districts. Extraction District will usually deactivate once all the gathering is done and you will dismantle them to re-obtain the Prefabs that you had invested when constructing it.
2) Make Prefabs through industrial production
Once you progress further into the narrative, you will be able to set up an Industrial District. You will need to build these on frozen tiles and make them produce a variety of “Goods” including Prefabs.
While you will obtain Prefabs automatically from these structures, you can accelerate production by manually changing the district’s setting and making it focus on the resource.

The scouts you send out will then harvest these Prefabs from you and bring them back to your city.
