Factions are a quintessential part of many MMORPGs, and Brighter Shores is no different in this regard. Players will be presented with the option of picking between three separate factions once they enter the Magic Cave, which will remain a one-time, permanent choice.

All factions in Brighter Shores
You can access the following factions within the Magic Cave:
- Cryoknight: Uses Ice Magic (Cryonae), and is weak to Tempestae, equips metal weaponry
- Guardian: Uses Nature Magic (Arborae), and is weak to Cryonae; equips bone weaponry
- Hammermage: Uses Lightning Magic (Tempestae) and is weak to Arborae; equips stone weaponry
As seen above, each faction has its own strengths and weaknesses. The 3 factions possess a rock-paper-scissor styled interaction in terms of weaknesses/strengths.
How to reach the Magic Cave in Brighter Shores
- Gain access to and unlock Hopeforest. This section is unlocked past Chapter 1, and as such might take a while to complete.
- Once within Hopeforest, search and meet up with all your companions.
- Head to the Dryad Glade.
- Deal with the Mutant Slag and save the Dryad.
- Grab the Dryad Leaf as your reward, and head into the Thin Trail northwest from your location.
- Head into the Tangled Lane beyond the Narrow Path.
Once near the Cave, use the Dryad Leaf to summon the Dryad and have him open the entrance to the cave for you.
Which faction should you choose?
Choosing a faction depends entirely on personal choice, with neither option offering a clear, distinct advantage over the other.
You will often come across situations where one faction gains the upper hand over an enemy type – and vice versa. Overall it is recommended to choose a faction that best speaks to you and your playstyle.
