Perhaps no one loves the Fairfax Industries as much as Deadman Danny in Deadlock, not even Maximilian to be honest. As the epitome of a corporate stooge, the undead skeleton leaves no stone unturned when it comes to praising and marketing for his employers.
Danny works as a Product Tester, Safety Specialist, and Salesman for Fairfax Industries. And during his time at the job, he has been shot, stabbed, blown up, and decapitated several times. However, as he is an undead, he cannot truly die, and he really does enjoy the process of putting himself in danger over and over again.
As long as he is able to contribute to the overall growth of the company, he seems to be rather content. And his reason for taking part in the Summoning Ritual is to showcase the Chimera Mark I, which is a prototype designed by McGinnis.

Deadman Danny wants to be most recognized Fairfax employee
Even the patrons are pretty unclear as to what his motivations are, and some speculate that apart from showcasing the prototype, he just wants to impress Maximillian and perhaps get a promotion in the process. According to Deadman Danny, Maximilian has made him the man that he is today. He looks at him as a father figure, and believes that Fairfax is God’s gift to man.
Danny’s origins are shrouded in secrecy as they are protected by a non-disclosure agreement with Fairfax Industries. But from what he slips through in his dialogs, it suggests that there is a fair bit of necromancy involved in his creation.
And while Danny might seem like a joke, Haze acknowledges that his actions as a safety specialist have unironically saved lives. A prime example of this was during his refined and showcased practices for handling “vorpal grenades”.
Deadman Danny does not care about dying constantly

The Chimera Mark I is powered by refined soul extract and contains sandalwood-scented napalm which is used for Jettison Fuel. However, Danny isn’t entirely sure on each of the Jetpack’s functionalities; this is because McGinnis constantly keeps updating it.
And as it’s a prototype, it’s faulty and prone to overheating. The ritual is the first real test run for the Chimera, and as its prone to exploding before lift off, even Danny admits that the jetpack is an unstable death trap.
Danny has great admiration for McGinnis, and he often calls her one of the brightest minds of her generation. The two have a friendly relationship at work, and during the several tests, McGinnis is often said to destroy parts of Danny’s body. But even with all the mishaps, the field tester has complete faith in her abilities.
Danny is also reluctant in killing Pocket, because he feels that Maximilian will be upset if he goes through with it. Moreover, he also doesn’t want Pocket to destroy Fairfax, so he often finds himself in this strange dilemma. Moreover, the Rat King hates Danny, because he once advertised a vermicide that killed 31 of his Ratanian subjects.
But despite that, Danny offers Rat King his business card in case the sovereign ever wanted Fairfax artillery to help secure his rule in Long Island.
