How to fast travel in Path of Exile 2

Fast travel is a staple of most RPGs, and Path of Exile 2 has thankfully included the feature which allows you to easily travel between points across the map. This is even more useful when you progress through and juggle multiple quests.

You can find a breakdown of the fast travel mechanic below, listing its features, limitations and general usage.

How to access fast travel in Path of Exile 2

Simply interact with a Waypoint to bring up the Acts map and thereby switch between your discovered Waypoints.

Using fast travel costs no items and is instantaneous, and is a great way to save time.

Every major area you travel to will possess a Waypoint, which will be added to your map. Keep in mind that while fast travelling, you will be instantly transported to a pre-existing Instance, if present.

If no Instance is present, it shall be created when you fast travel. This remains activated for a brief period of time before ultimately being removed for good.

Fast travelling to Towns in Path of Exile 2

You can also use the Town Portal to ‘fast travel’ back to the Town. This is unlike the usual fast travel method, as it only sends you back to town. The portal will, however, send you to the nearest town Waypoint which can be further interacted with to access other regions.

You can access a Town Portal to fast travel in Path of Exile 2 as described below:

  • Head to the Skills section of your Inventory.
  • Select the Bind Skills option.
  • Selecting the option will bring up a list of your already learned skills.
  • Equip the Town Portal skill in any of your slots.
  • Use the skill when desired.

Town Portals work both ways, which means you can walk back and forth between the two sections once it is cast. There are no restrictions to their use either, though they do disappear after a while.
