Nurse Harrow is the unsettling new hero in Deadlock, whose idea of medical treatment involves leeches, strange chemicals, and unleashing the horrors lurking inside her medical bag.
We have all had a childhood where we were afraid of needles, dentists and visiting the Doctor in general. Valve seems to reinvigorate that same old fear, making you not want to become one of Harrow’s next patients.
While there are currently no direct lore-specific reasons as to why the Nurse is participating in the summoning ritual. It could merely be because of her drive to help the people of New York during this supernatural conflict.
She works at the Marble Hill Possession Ward, specializing in treating supernatural possessions, which is more common than not in the world of Deadlock. Harrow has dedicated her life to curing those afflicted by forces beyond human understanding.
Nurse Harrow has earned quite the reputation for her methods
Although some patients consider her a saint, Harrow has gained a fair bit of notoriety due to her methods of treatment.
But personally, she does not seem particularly concerned about the kind of reputation she earns. To her, the treatment matters more than the patient’s comfort. And this philosophy of hers is what is keeping most of the people in this supernatural universe alive.
The Nurse utilizes a slew of methods and abilities for her treatments. Some of the prominent ones being leeches that can drain out vitality, which she also uses in her gameplay.
Throughout a match of Deadlock, she keeps getting stronger the more leeches she harvests. But her most terrifying trick is what’s hiding in her medical bag.
According to in-game descriptions, Nurse Harrow is said to collect and store pain, anger, fear, and other forms of rational emotions of her patients inside the medical bag. Which she can then unleash during her gameplay to instill fear and damage upon her opponents.

When caught in the open bag’s effects enemies automatically run away from fear while constantly taking spirit damage.
Some fun facts about Nurse Harrow is that her kit and especially her ultimate ability seemed to be a repurposed ability of a previously unused Deadlock hero named Raven. He was supposed to be a Russian spy archetype, but Valve seemed to have other plans for him.
Harrow can be really condescending and rather blunt about her distaste for holding conversations with certain characters in the Deadlock roster. Because she likes to maintain discipline
When Celeste tries to ask Harrow, if she ever smiles, she immediately gets shut down with a whole lecture, which completely stuns the unicorn. But she also appreciates and acknowledges obedience where it is due.
