Marvel Rivals has had quite the impressive launch week, drawing in a large number of players. While the launch has been mostly smooth, there have been reports of numerous technical issues – which is expected for a launch title.
One of the many issues plaguing the game at the moment is a rather curious bug where the game stops loading at 99%. This issue has understandably caused a lot of frustration among players.
You can find a list of probable fixes below.
How to possibly fix the 99 percent loading screen error in Marvel Rivals
Verify integrity of game files
One of the possible causes for the stuck at 99% loading error in Marvel Rivals could be related to corrupted game files. To verify if you indeed have corrupted files (and fix them), follow the steps below:
- Fire up Steam.
- Head to your game Library.
- On the Marvel Rivals banner, click on the Settings/Cog icon.
- Click Properties from the drop down menu.
- Head to the Manage Files tab.
- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
Wait until Steam parses through the installed files. Missing files, if any – will be automatically downloaded and patched.
Restart your PC and/or game

Nothing beats a quick reset. A probable solution to the perplexing 99% loading screen bug might involve simply restarting your game client. Consider restarting the Steam client as well if required.
If nothing works, try restarting your PC and/or reinstalling the game.
Transfer game files to an SSD
Finally, consider transferring your game files to a faster, NVMe based SSD if you haven’t already. HDDs are a no-go, especially with modern tiles.
SATA based SSDs are also somewhat less desirable, given how slow they are compared to their NVMe counterparts.
Check your internet connection
Faulty internet connectivity can sometimes result in periodic disconnects. Try switching to a wired connection, and disable any VPNs if in use.
The fixes above should hopefully help resolve the issue. Keep in mind that these are simply workarounds and not true, foolproof solutions. You might have to wait for an official patch for the issue to be resolved.
