Godzilla Medallion in Fortnite uses & how to get

After being teased for quite a while, Godzilla has finally arrived in Fortnite as a skin and a boss. As expected, he’s bigger and more furious than any of the bosses released in the game, and interestingly, instead of a fixed spawn location, someone from the lobby gets to become the Kaiju.

Another layer of gameplay has been added through the Godzilla Medallion, the third item of this type available this season. From its purpose to how you can get it in every game, here’s everything to know about the Godzilla Medallion in Fortnite.

Every way to get Godzilla Medallion in Fortnite

There are two primary ways to get the Godzilla Medallion in Fortnite. The player who deals the most damage to the Kaiju on the map instantly gets the medallion when it’s beaten. Or, you can look for the player carrying the Godzilla Medallion and steal the item by eliminating them.

The easy way is to wait for the chaos to settle and then hunt down the player with the medallion. Their approximate location is indicated on the map through a yellow circle. An example of the same can be found in the image below:

The harder, but more direct, way is to track Godzilla when it spawns on the island. During every game, a notification will appear in the middle of the bottom of your screen suggesting that the Godzilla portal is now open.

The first player to pass through the portal gets to become Godzilla until others on the map completely deplete its health. As the boss, you can roar to reveal nearby players, throw a powerful beam that can break structures and deal tons of damage, and send grounded opponents flying through foot stomps.

When you go near the Kaiju, a bar under his health bar shows how much damage you have dealt to the boss and your current position among other players in the lobby. As soon as Godzilla goes down, the player with the highest damage immediately gets the Godzilla medallion and the Burst Quad Launcher.

A trick here is to target the scales on Godzilla’s back and limbs. Damage is increased when your bullets land on these scales and the boss also drops fragments that can be consumed for 40 health and three dash charges.

What does the Godzilla Medallion do in Fortnite

The Godzilla Medallion in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 grants you dash charges over time, basically boosting mobility like the Blades and Void Masks. However, it does not consume an inventory slot like the rest of these items.

Back in Chapter 5 Season 2, the Agility Medallion had the same effect and if you played the game then, the Godzilla Medallion should feel very familiar to you.

As mentioned earlier, the only downside of equipping the Godzilla Medallion is that your location is displayed to everyone else in the game. As a result, expect to be third-partied and forced into gunfights a lot more often.

Well, that’s everything to know about the Godzilla boss in Fortnite and how you can get its medallion in the game.
