When we think of tanks in Deadlock, the first character who comes to mind is Abrams. But the one that’s quickly taking away that top spot is Victor. This is a character who was strictly made with the idea of high endurance during team fights, as his ultimate ability gives him a free rejuvinator.
His kit is also very favorable for his split-pushing gameplay style. If killed, Victor literally reassambles his body parts, ready to go on a rampage again. This has been making the Deadlock community lose its mind for a while.
But that is exactly in line with the kind of character Victor was inspired from, which is Frankenstein’s Monster from the book by the famous author Mary Shelly. The mad scientist, Victor Frankenstein, assembled various dead human body parts to construct a monster who was an unstoppable force.
Victor is looking for the person who created him
Victor’s back story in Deadlock follows him as a walking corpse who one day woke up on a mortuary table without memories. He is participating in the ritual in order to seek out the person who created him, desperately hoping someone will recognize one of his body parts.
The Deadlock community initially found the character as a leaked hero in an early build of the game. Back then, the character was named ‘Frank’. With the release of the first big update for the game back in August of 2025, Victor finally dropped as a playable character.
One of the most identifying features of Victor, other than the mismatched color of body parts, is his heterochromia. He addresses it in one of his dialogues in the character select screen.
Other Deadlock characters are nice to Victor
Being made up assembled body parts is also a reason as to why some of him is deteriorating, especially his left arm, which keeps falling off. This is the reason why Victor is in constant physical pain, and because of this, the rest of the Deadlock cast find pity in his situation and are nice to him.
Bebop invites him to meet Ms. Shelly, The Doorman invites him to the Baroness Hotel, and both Ivy and Paige offer to help him. The only person who is appalled by his existence is Yamato. This is revealed through her dialogue every time she gets to kill Victor.
One fun fact about Victor is that, aside from Shiv, he is also considered a very attractive individual by other characters. Both Infernus and Silver do not hold back from saying that he is a pretty ‘good looking corpse’ out loud. Mina offers to properly sew up Victor’s body parts, and Paige is the craziest one because she literally tells her to never put on a shirt.
