Deadlock features quite a few characters who are actually duos in disguise. You might be confused after hearing that because the only duo that comes to mind is Mo & Krill. But we all forget about the other duo, Sinclair.
Well, we don’t blame you for not knowing that, since it’s not visually apparent, and there are only a few clues to go by if you’re just in it for the gameplay.
While very mysterious on the surface, there is one thing that all of us are certain about when it comes to Sinclair. They are not a regular living character like some of the others in the cast.

In fact, Sinclair is a mannequin with two individuals trapped inside. This is the reason for the character’s uncanny movements in the game, as opposed to the smoother tricks that other Deadlock heroes can pull off.
Sinclair is literally trying to work his way around a match with the limited number of joints a mannequin has in its artificial body.
Sinclair was born from an accident
So, our story here starts with Henry and Savannah, two magicians who fell in love with each other. Even though the parents on both sides were not pleased with the prospects, Henry and Savannah took a step further to cement their love by using blood magic to bind their souls together forever.
Unfortunately, the relationship soured after an on-stage accident, which killed their physical bodies. Now they have been trapped inside the mannequin, with the rest of eternity left to blame each other for the mistakes. This is because after using blood magic, their souls are now bound and can never pass on.

This is why they are trying to work together in the streets of Cursed Apple. Completing the ritual is the last and only chance they have of finding out if the binding can be undone. If you notice, Sinclair’s voice keeps changing in the game every time the character dies and comes back to life.
The current design for Sinclair is a placeholder
The game starts with Henry controlling the mannequin. Savannah takes over after he dies, and vice versa.
However, do keep in mind that the current in-game design for Sinclair is a placeholder since it was previously the concept behind Wraith, who is another hero in Deadlock. So, we are hoping to see a remodel for the character soon.

One fun fact about Sinclair is that the weapon they use is a magic wand named ‘The Prestige’. It is a reference to the novel of the same name written by Christopher Priest as well as the movie adaptation of the book, which was directed by Christopher Nolan.
