Thanks to the occult and sci-fi elements in Deadlock, we can have a roster full of characters with interesting age ranges. There are ghosts that have not left the mortal plane of existence, as well as animated constructs who have a will of their own.
But if we were to look at the roster realistically, then we would find one mortal being who has aged the most, and in the most natural of ways. He is the founding member of the Baxter Society, who was there to experience the first Maelstrom, Grey Talon.
He has been a monster hunter for at least 40 years of his life, until he retired, deciding to spend the rest of his days happily with his family. But all of that changed when he suddenly received some disastrous news.

Grey Talon came out of retirement to avenge his family
Grey Talon’s son and daughter-in-law had mysteriously lost their lives in a house fire. The tragedy did not look like an accident, and that realization changed him forever. Grey Talon picked up his bow once again, but not for monster hunting.
He came out of retirement to investigate their deaths and track down the arsonists. Once it became clear that the notorious organization, Friends of Humanity, was involved, Grey Talon decided to take the law into his hands.

This is the reason as to why he is participating in the ritual. He wishes to bring justice for everyone who has ever suffered at the hands of this neopolitical group, and completely destroy them in the process.
Vindicta is aiding the old man in his quest for vengeance
But dismantling the Friends of Humanity is not an easy task for one person. Grey Talon knows this well; hence, he has befriended Vindicta in his mission, who has been waging war against the founder of the organization, John Hathorne.
Grey Talon is also aided by the guided owl named Rohan. He calls upon the spirit creature to dive at his enemies and stun them with an explosion. In a previous iteration of the character, during Neon Prime days, Rohan used to be a different kind of creature.

That is until the devs decided to give Talon a distinct native american identity. This made the owl a more fitting pet, as they are associated with death in the native american culture. A fun fact about Grey Talon is that he has been to the south of Ixia and considers it a very beautiful place.
