How to use:

Piloting this build is pretty simple. It’s not as MP-intensive as some of the more traditional sorcery builds as it manages to keep a steady balance between both ranged and melee attacks. We are picking Lizard Greatsword as the melee weapon of choice as it has very low attribute requirements for Strength and Dex and scales incredibly well with Intelligence when you Cold infuse it.

The weapon also has a range attack if you charge strong attacks with it and both the basic and strong attacks will allow you to inflict Frostbite on the enemy.

Your main strategy with this build will be to pair the weapons attacks and The Divine Beast Frost Stomp Ash of War to keep building up Frostbite if you are up against a boss. Spells like Rings of Spectral Light, which is one of the best sorceries that you can get early, pairs incredibly well with this build.

The spell will also build up Frostbite and can do a ton of damage if you can land all of the rings on the boss. Once you get this mage build going and obtain all of the sorcery spells that we have mentioned, you have a much easier time taking out mobs or single targets in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Just make sure that your overall armor setup has at least 50 poise. This will prevent you from getting staggered when you are charging your spells, as most of the sorceries in this build will increase your poise when casting while also giving you hyper-armor.

2) The Carian Sovereignty Mage sorcery build

How to use:

This is a Carian version of the Divine Beast Frost Stomp Mage sorcery build. The only change is that we slot in the Carian Sovereignty Ash of War for the Divine Beast Frost Stomp.

The playstyle will also remain the same, however, you will be relying on your Ash of War a bit more for boss fights this time around. The Carian Sovereignty skill does an incredible amount of damage with both its initial cast as well as its follow-up hit.

You get hyper-armor during the cast animation, as you are charging the skill, so make sure to wear an armor set that has a minimum poise of 50. It will let you tank through the incoming attacks as you execute the skill. Additionally, as you are using a greatsword, you will already get a poise boost when using the Ash of War.

When it comes to clearing mobs, you can either rely on the greatsword’s basic attacks if you are not looking to use MP or use some of the OP spells that this build has. Spells like Fleeting Microcosm and Rellana’s Twin Moons are some of the best Sorceries in Shadow of the Erdtree, which synergize incredibly well with this playstyle.

So once you have this build made, you will be able to cheese through most content in the Land of Shadow.

3) The Star-lined Sword Glintstone Mage sorcery build

How to use:

This build relies heavily on Carian sorceries and makes the most of the Star-Lined Sword. The Katana has one of the coolest Ash of War in FromSoftware‘s RPG called Onze’s Line of Stars. When used, you will imbue the weapon with sorcery magic lining it with glintstones to enhance your slash attacks.

Repeated inputs of the skill will let you get up to two more follow-up attacks each doing significantly more damage than the previous one. If you are able to pull off the entire move and the follow-up hits on a boss you will be able to shred through their HP bar.

With the Katana and the Glintstone Sorceries combined, you will have a much easier time going through some of the most difficult content. however, compared to the previous entries on the list, this glintstone sorcery build is much more mana-hungry.

You will have to invest more points in Mind, sacrificing Faith. This means that you will not have access to some of the more defensive incantations like Golden Vow, Flame Protect Me, Barrier of Gold, and more.
