A recently uploaded video by YouTube giant MrBeast has erupted in an unexpected controversy. Both his fans and critics are labelling the creator’s latest high-stakes challenges as dangerously unhinged. The segment that included a contestant trapped in a burning house for a chance to win $500,000 is being compared to a horror film, sparking fierce debate about morality and safety in pursuit of this viral content.
MrBeast faces intense outrage on his recently uploaded YouTube video

Online backlash against MrBeast has been severe and swift after the release of the clip, where a man was turned to a Jigsaw in real time. An X user did not mince his words as he said, “He’s a psychopath. The smoke would’ve killed that guy before the flames got to him. YouTube cannot be allowed to show this on their platform this is reckless engagement???????”
The sentiment got echoed by another X user who commented, “I keep telling everyone Mr Beast is a sociopath and this is gonna keep getting more dangerous till …”
Further criticism against him even drew direct comparisons from some fictional villains. An observer compared MrBeast with Squid Games player no. 1, Oh II-nam, saying he’s “becoming this man after several years.”
Some X users were even concerned about the legality of this stunt. One of them brought up a question asking, “is what mr.beast doing illegal?”
The defense, too, emerged from some viewers who pointed out that this was a staged production. A comment argued, “1. The fire is a controlled fire… 2. He has fire protective gear on him… 3. They are not gonna let him burn in… 4. The roof is open so the smoke doesn’t get trapped…”
While another supporter said, “He straight up says in the video that the guy is a trained stunt man… You guys love making mountains out of molehills.”
Despite all explanations, there were still concerns about imitation. A user highlighted that, “The problem is staged or not, people are going to think this is real, and then try to imitate it.”
How did MrBease respond to this ongoing backlash?
MrBeast himself responded to one of the posts, which said, “MrBeast had a contestant TRAPPED inside a BURNING house to win $500,000 in his new video 😳🔥”
In his response, the creator said, “This blew up, if you’re curious obviously we had ventilation for the smoke and a kill switch to cut off the fires.” He further added that, thy had professionals test all this extensively. Moreover, “the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more seriously than you could ever imagine.”
MrBeast’s history of high-risk endeavors that took unexpected turns
Well, the current challenge has caught the eyes of the public and has been bringing in a lot of backlash; it is not the first time that MrBeast has pushed such a physically demanding challenge. His content history is a catalogue of some extreme endurance tests.
Spend 24 hours underwater
In this challenge, MrBeast tried to sit at the bottom of a pool for an entire day while using a breathing apparatus. The stunt got aborted after just 12 hours as he faced severe seasickness, with the creator himself admitting that it was one “horrible idea.”
Sit in snakes for $10,000
The challenge offered all players $10,000 to just sit in the bathtub that was filled up with live snakes. It was a part of a series of some fear-based dares that included handling tarantulas. It also included grabbing cash that was covered in cockroaches.
I spent 50 hours buried alive
MrBeast, during this challenge, sealed himself in a glass coffin. He remained buried underground for 50 hours. Though he did succeed, he emerged in quite a physical distress. He also had a terrible headache and hunger. He described his experience as challenging.
Surviving 100 days in a nuclear bunker
A recent video included contestants to survive 100 days in an isolated bunker for a $500,000 prize. The only catch here was that the cash remained placed in the fireplace, and when some random alarms sounded, it offered contestants a few seconds to save the money from being incinerated.
A weight loss challenge that turned to tragedy
Just a few months back, the YouTuber posted a new video called Lose 100 LBS and win $250,000! It was in support of one of MrBeast’s pals, Majd. The video, though, took a tragic turn as Tyler Wall, the fitness instructor who was assisting this challenge, died unexpectedly during the filming period. His death was later attributed to accidental drug toxicity.
