FaZe Clan’s Jason “Jasontheween” Nyugen and Sakura Shymko recently went together to the Streamer Prom, an event organised by Funnymike on June 18.
The event was a star-studded event, and a lot of popular streaming stars and starlets were in attendance.
It all started with Jasontheween looking for a date to take to the event. However, despite a lot looking, he couldn’t land a date. After being rejected by individuals like Pokimane, Cinna and ExtraEmily, he finally asked Sakura to be his date.
She agreed to go with him, but was a bit reluctant about it. The only reason she went as his date was because Jason had written a song for her.
The internet was infatuated over the couple, causing Jason’s stream to peak at 118,191 viewers. And while you would expect the event to end on a positive note, there was a lot of negativity that followed after.
Despite the two individuals sharing a lot of side-eyes and smirks, there was some amount of hostility between the two. Sakura also clarified that an incident revolving a balloon gave the her the ick about Jason.
Ultimately, it’s not exactly clear about what happened between the two of them, but it’s safe to assume that they’re not together at this point.
The incident took a wild turn because when Jason’s fans came to know about it, they were extremely annoyed, and some individuals went to the extent of sending them death threats.
“Sakura and I are fine. Please stop sending death threats and harassment, especially toward her. Our streams are for entertainment, but things can be misinterpreted. Today didn’t go as expected, but we’re grateful for the support. Please be kind, we’re all human. Thank you.”

It forced Jason to come up with a clarification and a statement about his relationship with Sakura. He said that the two of them were fine and they didn’t deserve the harassment at all.
And while the incident didn’t go their way, he wanted his fans to know that they were humans too. With the dust finally settling down in their wake, fans still hope a Jakura reunion could be on the cards.
