Getting the protagonist’s level up will let you fuze more powerful demons while increasing the level of the rest of your party, improving their stats, and unlocking more skills.

How to level up fast in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance
1) Look for Consecutive Encounters
Consecutive Encounters are where your enemies will get reinforcements during a battle. So once you take out the initial group of enemies, another group will spawn to take its place.
These encounters occur when multiple demons are chasing you at the same time. But once you clear all the waves, you will receive bonus EXP and Macca. This bonus is significant and can give a 3-4 times boost to what you would usually get for beating those demons at that stage.
Additionally, there is a certain skill called Riberama which will prevent enemies from fleeing in the field and increase the chance of Consecutive Encounters until the next New Moon. Nezha Taizi is one of the demons in the early game who has that skill.
2) Farm Mitamas
Mitamas are the tear-shaped enemies that you will find on the map or when interacting with Quest Navigator points of interest. These have randomized weaknesses and you will need to use Spy Glass every time you encounter one.
If you are not able to take them out in one round, they will all escape when it’s their turn. Each Mitama you encounter will have just one elemental weakness and block all other forms of damage.
So apart from using Spy Glass and exploiting their weakness the only other way to beat them will be to use Almighty attacks or moves that have the Pierce effect.

Saki Mitama (Yellow/Gold)
- Cloth Mask: sold for 800 Macca
- Simple Undershirt: sold for 2500 Macca
- Mouse Mummy: sold for 4000 Macca
Nigi Mitama (Blue)
- Small Glory Crystal: Raises Glory by 10
Ara Mitama (Red)
- Grimoire: Gives enough EXP to a demon in your party to reach the next level.
Kushi Mitama (Grey/Black)
- Gospel: Gives enough EXP to the Nahobino to reach the next level.
All Mitamas will give you a lot of EXP for the Nahobino and their party once you beat them. However, to to level up faster it’s recommended that you target farm Ara Mitama and Kushi Mitama.
Grimoires will give a demon a single level up while a Gospel will give the Nahobino a single level up.
3) Complete all the side missions
Side quests are a great way of gaining more EXP in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. Not all demons in Da’at are trying to kill the Nahobino. Some will look for his help and ask your aid to complete certain missions.
While some missions are simple quests where you give them Bead, or Gems, or kill a number of certain enemies, others will ask you to defeat a difficult boss. Side Quests mostly come with a level recommendation. So make sure you meet it before trying to complete them.
However, once you complete the side quests there is a lot of EXP to be earned from them along with valuable items like Talismans, Balms, Incense, and even Gospels.
4) Interact with Demon Statues (points of power)
In almost every area you will find large Demon Statues which you can interact with. These are points of power, which will give all the demons in your active party and reserve one full level up.
These points are marked on the map by a yellow, cat-silhouette icon with an exclamation mark on it. So once you see them on the map, make your way to them and absorb their power.
5) Make sure you have Demonic Discipline
Demons who are not in your active party will not gain full EXP after taking down an enemy. This can prevent them from leveling up at an appropriate pace. To help them gain a bit more EXP you will need to unlock the Demonic Discipline Miracle.
It will take 150 Glory to acquire and will significantly increase the amount of EXP that the demons who are in your reserve earn. It is a great way of passively leveling up those demons whom you are not using much in the active party.
6) Complete the main missions
Main missions are the most reliable source of gaining EXP and leveling up in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. So if you are stuck in a certain side content, you should progress a bit further in the story before you come back to the mission in Atlus‘ title.
