Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 4 Secret – Purple Cloud Mountain guide

In Black Myth: Wukong, you will come across multiple bosses and secret areas but none of them are as attractive and engaging as the one in Chapter 4.

This mission will take you through different areas and features one of the most difficult boss fights that the game has to offer, so here’s everything you need to know.

How to unlock Purple Cloud Mountain secret area in Black Myth: Wukong

The first step to unlocking the path to the Purple Cloud Mountain secret area is defeating the Venom Daoist. You’ll have to do this twice, once at the Pool of Shattered Jade, and then again at the Temple of Yellow Flowers.

How to reach the Pool of Shattered Jade

  • From the Upper Hollow Shrine, look for a ledge that allows you to drop down to a lower platform.
  • Head into the tunnel and avoid all the enemies and the hostile spider sacs.
  • At the end of the path, there’s a hollow, which is the main path. Avoid this, and take the path that leads to the cliffside area.
  • You’ll come across a meditation spot, and right beyond that is the Pool of Shattered Jade shrine.

First Venom Daoist encounter

Beyond the shrine, you’ll see some spider sacs, with a large one in the middle. Strike that one with your weapon, and that’ll cause the Venom Daoist to emerge.

This enemy has multiple limbs and is capable of executing some fast attacks, so make sure to keep your distance. That said, if you time your dodges and parries, you can make quick work of this enemy.

When you defeat him for the first time, he’ll promise to show you his true power the next time the two of you meet.

How to reach the Temple of Yellow Flowers

Getting to the Temple of Yellow Flowers isn’t tricky at all. Just follow the path as it goes and keep defeating each and every enemy that you encounter.

Eventually, you’ll reach the Temple of Yellow Flowers, and subsequently, the Court of Illumination shrine. Right beside this shrine is the arena for this area’s boss fight. Don’t go inside, instead, head into the cavern on the opposite side.

Keep following it till you reach a large open area, and then take the path to the left. That’ll take you to another cave with the Venom Daoist waiting for you.

Venom Daoist second encounter

The Venom Daoist in Black Myth: Wukong is considerably stronger this time, but he’ll retain most of his abilities from the previous fight.

As you progress through the battle, he’ll start losing his limbs as you chop away at his health. Once you’ve depleted it completely, the second fight sequence will begin.

When you defeat him, he’ll reveal an inscription on the wall. Interact with it and it’ll take you to the Purple Mountain secret area in Black Myth: Wukong.

  • The Snake Herbalist spirit form can be found guarding a plate before the Petalfall Hamlet waypoint.
  • You’ll come across the Scorpionlord beyond the Bounds of Deity’s Abode. He’ll warn you to not touch the pots, but if you do, it’ll trigger a bossfight. Defeat him to collect the Deathstinger, which will allow you to craft the Fuban Armor set.
  • You will find the Celestial Tablet Registry curio in the open area close to the Petalfall Hamlet waypoint.
  • You’ll also come across the Gold Sun Crow in an area across the rope bridge from the hill behind the Scorpionlord boss.

Daoist Mi bossfight

The Daoist Mi bossfight is an optional fight in Black Myth: Wukong, but it’ll reward you with one of the best transformations in the game.

At the Petalfall Hamlet, you’ll come across Daoist Mi, who’ll ask you to help him with his priests who’ve been corrupted. After you’ve defeated one of the priests, they’ll drop an item called the Violet Hail. The enemy that drops it is completely random, so you’ll have to keep defeating as many as you come across.

Take the Violet Hail and head back to Daoist Mi. When you give him this item, he’ll attack you, triggering the bossfight. If you defeat him, the Snake Lady will reward you with the Violet Hail spell, that will transform you into a Worm Guai.

Not only does this transformation make you immune to poison, but you’ll also infect enemies with hostile larvae.
