Bungie and NetEase are currently working on a mobile game called Destiny Rising. While not much details are available about this game, it’s believed that the title is set in the Destiny universe.
Information about this game first surfaced back in 2022, when Bungie had patented their Touchscreen controls for mobile devices and handheld controls.
The patents included features like auto-aiming, swipe, and drag, which could be used as a drag-and-drop feature for inventory items and action buttons on Touchscreens.
While primarily believed to be used for Destiny 2, it was later revealed that the company was working on a title known as Destiny Rising.
Following the multiple rounds of layoffs at Bungie, it was assumed that the mobile game was cancelled alongside “Payback” and other unnamed titles.

However, as posted on X by Kurakasis, the project is apparently on track, and this is the first time a name was given to this project.
“Destiny Rising is the title of an unannounced Destiny mobile game being developed by NetEase and Bungie,” Kurakasis said. “It has not been canceled. I can assure you that it is still in development.”
Fans didn’t take this information too well either, with some fearing another round of layoffs coming in should this title fail.
Players have also expressed concerns of diluting the player-base too much while others fear that Destiny Rising might be a gacha game which could also be a cash grab considering that NetEase is involved.
It’s worth noting that Bungie and NetEase are yet to make a comment about the existence of this mobile game, so readers are advised to take this information with a grain of salt.
Following the conclusion of the Light vs Dark saga the Destiny 2 playerbase has dwindled slightly. And while the company is trying to build up to their new saga, they’re yet to come up with something that excites players enough to return to the game.
