With Diablo 4 Season 5, Season of the Infernal Hordes finally going live you might just be looking for the best ways to progress through the new seasonal content.

As your character completely resets at the start of a new season in the RPG, it’s important to find the most efficient way of leveling your character and reaching the end-game content. The Infernal Hordes dungeons are where you will start to minmax your class.

However, to reach it you will need to make your way to World Tier 3, but reaching it can take a significant amount of time based on the progression path you are going for.

Here is a guide on the best way to progress through Season 5, Season of the Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4.

Best progression path in Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes

Diablo 4 Infernal Hordes activity.

Here is the best path you should be choosing to progress through Season 5 in Diablo 4:

Step 1: Skip the campaign

If you have already completed the campaign in Diablo 4, the first thing that you will need to do before starting the new seasonal content is to skip the story. The skip opinion will be available to you only if you have played through the narrative atleast once.

Step 2: Start the Seasonal Questline in World Tier 2

While the enemies will be a bit harder to manage with your reset character, it’s advised that you start Season of the Infernal Hordes in World Tier 2. Once you enter the Seasonal Realm, you will notice a lot of green leaf icons on the map.

These icons represent the new missions that were added with the new season, and as you start completing missions you will eventually unlock the Mother’s Gifts mechanic. This will let you increase your guild reputation and you will be able to unlock higher tier rewards the more your reputation level gets.

Step 3: Farm Helltides to level up fast

Helltides will be one of the best ways of leveling up in Diablo 4 Season 5. This is because the enemies in this mode do have HP that scales with the number of party members. So if you are with a group, Helltides are going to help you rack up levels in no time.

They are a great source of Mother’s Gifts as well as Aberrant Cinders, so spend some farm farming them in a loop to have an easier time reaching higher World Tiers.

Step 4: Don’t forget to complete the Class Quests

Helltides are down for 5 minutes after you have completed them once. You can use this time to complete the Class Quests that are still pending. Class quests kick off after you reach level 25, and you will see it as the white-colored icon on the map.

These quests guests will unlock more features for the class that you are using, so make sure you burn through them during the Helltide downtime.

Step 5: Reach World Tier 3 when you hit level 35 and farm Nightmare Dungeons and Infernal Hordes

When you reach level 35 you will want to change the difficulty of the Overworld to World Tier 3. So clear the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon and change the tier.

However, do note that the recommended level for the Dungeon is Level 50. But that’s something that a good build centered around Legendary Gears and aspects won’t solve.

If you are having trouble completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon make sure to farm the Hellbreach Dungeons. They are an introductory feature to the Infernal Hordes dungeons, and you will be able to get your hands on a lot of powerful weapons if you have obtained the highest amount of Burning Aethers before reaching the final boss.

As you hit World Tier 3 you will automatically unlock Nightmare Dungeons as well as the new Infernal Hordes Dungeons. However, for the latter, you might have to complete certain quests like The Eye of the Enemy to unlock it.

Once you have access to them both, run them on repeat till you reach Level 50 or above.

Step 5: Reach World Tier 4 at level 50 or above

You will need to hit the final World difficulty by the time you cross level 50 in Diablo 4 Season 5. You will need to complete the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon to achieve this. While the recommended level for it is 70, if you have farmed enough Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons to minmax your leveling build, the dungeon should not be a problem.

Once you reach World Tier 4, you will need to invest more time in Nightmare Dungeons to get the Aspects that are needed to make the best build for your class. Keep farming Infernal Hordes as well. This is because in World Tier 4 your chances of getting your hands on the new Uniques that dropped with Season 5 are much higher.

Step 6: Start minmaxing with the Pits

Once you have exhausted your leveling build, it’s time to start minmaxing your character for the endgame. As you approach level 100 you will need to focus your attention more on completing the Pits.

This mode will help you acquire the Masterworking materials required to complete your build. While Infernal Hordes has a chance of helping you with this as well, the Pits are considered to be a bit more suited for the role.

So keep grinding these missions out in a loop to make the best build for your character.

Step 7: Don’t forget to complete the Seasonal Journey

As you progress through the World Tiers, make sure you are completing the various Seasonal Journey challenges as well. These challenges drop a lot of rewards as you finish them these include item caches that contain geat and consumables like the Scroll of Amnesia.

You can use the Scroll to completely reset your character again and then start your journey in Season of the Infernal Hordes all over again.
