Best Fortnite landing spots in Chapter 6 Season 1

One of the biggest highlights of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is its map. From the boss fight in Demon’s Dojo that hands out Mythic Oni Masks to Sprites , there are a ton of new elements worth checking out.

The current map also stands out in terms of how you can obtain weapons and other valuables. While the standard prominent locations have no shortage of chests and loot, plenty of landmarks can be ideal landing spots for solo players and even teams.

If you want to start your Fortnite matches with proper loot and , here are the best landing spots in the game as of Chapter 6 Season 1.

Best drop spots in Fortnite & how to reach them

Instead of stating the obvious and telling you to land in major POIs like Shogun’s Solitude, Seaport City, Lost Lake, and Masked Meadows, we’ve mostly included secretive and lesser-known landing spots in Fortnite.

In my experience, you’ll occasionally have to fight a person or two while landing at the places listed below. In return, you get access to some of the best items available in the game and drastically improve your odds of surviving the late storm circles.

Loot cave in Magic Mosses

Loot cave in Fortnite's Magic Mossess

The location marked in the image above will take you to a small wooden shack in between of Magic Mosses. You need to break the wooden floor and head down, but we recommend catching a nearby Sprite first.

With the Sprite in your inventory, break the wooden floor twice to reach an underground cave with a small pool. Leave the pool and equip the Sprite to open the cave in front of the two small turtle statues.

Inside, you’ll find around ten chests, including Rare and Elemental Ones. You’re also guaranteed Barrels for a shield, a Tyhpoon Blade, and Oni Masks.

The loot cave in Magic Mosses has become a popular landing spot quickly, so beware of other players trying to ruin your experience.

Overlook Lighthouse

The Overlook Lighthouse is a small landmark located on the eastern end of the map. The tall lighthouse has over five chests and an Elemental Chest. The adjoining cliff has a couple of small shacks, and you’ll also find vehicles to easily rotate.

The launch pad in front of the Lighthouse is another easy way to get out of this location if you’re in a sticky situation. The entire patch is quite secluded so mostly, you’ll only have to worry someone coming from Salty Docks.

Great Turtle

Although the Great Turtle seems like a rather isolated place in the middle of the forest, you’ll likely find a bunch of players landing here frequently. The turtle was featured in the trailer and it has become a fan attraction instantly.

The turtle also has a guaranteed Elemental Chest spawn and you can get nine chests in the trees surrounding it. Heading west from this location will take you to a Burd to Go gas station that has over five chests and vehicles as well.

This route is disconnected from any major POIs so most of the times, you should be safe from third-parties once the early gunfights are over.

Big Bend tunnel system

The snowy peak between Masked Meadows and Canyon Crossing is, surprisingly, home to twelve chests and an Elemental Chest that can be accessed by three ziplines connecting an underground tunnel system.

Once you’ve cleared out the competition, exploring this area alone is worth every penny. You’re certain to acquire some high-level loot and there are enough barrels to max out your shield.

After looting, you can either use the vehicles in the middle of the peaks or jump off the launch pad at the top of the peak.

Nightshift Forest vault

Nightshift Forest vault in Fortnite

One of the best landing locations in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is locked behind a puzzle, but we have you covered.

Start by landing somewhere remote in Nightshift Forest and collecting a Sprite. Now, figure out the spawn location of the Bushranger NPC. He can be seen standing in one of these locations:

Interact with Bushranger while you have the Sprite and he should grant you the key to open the vault in Nightshift Forest while also changing the time mechanics of the place.

Now, head to the location marked in the image below and use the Vault key. Inside, you’ll find a Typhoon Blade, four Rare Chests, and two Elemental Chests, which is as enticing as it sounds. Nine Slurp Barrels ensure that you walk out of the vault with all the protection needed.

Considering how popular the forest is, it is best if you are the first or last player to enter the vault. Interacting with Bushranger and unlocking the vault while being surrounded by enemies can be quite risky.

Burd

Burd POI in Fortnite

Burd is a small POI located south of Nightshift Forest that only contains five buildings. However, the 22 standard chests, two Elemental Chests, and the Slurp Truck make it one of the best places to land in Chapter 6 Season 1.

The area is pretty confined so opening all the chests should be much quicker compared to some of other locations on this list. On top of that, two cars spawn outside the stores so you can rotate to the next spot comfortably.

As of Chapter 6 Season 1, you can expect a handful of enemy players in Burd if it’s close to the Battle Bus’ path.

Pumpin’ Pines

This is my favorite hidden location in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. South of Demon’s Dojo, there’s a secluded landmark called Pumpin’ Pines that has an underground tunnel system.

The Slurp Truck can help you max out your health and shields even before you enter the underground tunnel. Overall, there are twelves chests, one Elemental Chest, and a Typhoon Blade up for grabs.

Martial Maneuvers

This is a landmark located on the northern end of the map. There are no Rare or Elemental chests but the sixteen standard chests and the Typhoon Blade should make up for it. There’s a Slurp Truck right outside the buildings and once you’re done looting, just use the car parked outside to rotate.

Take the road south and make a stop at the Burd to Go gas station to find five more chests and then, you should be ready to take on any opponents in Pumped Power or other nearby POIs.

Martial Maneuvers is optimal for players looking for a slow and safe start in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1.

Placid Paddies

Finally on our list, there’s Placid Paddies. Located on the northwestern edge of the map, this small landmark has 16 chests and an Elemental Chest. There’s a Slurp Truck for all your shield needs too.

Looting all chests should be fairly quick and then, you can use the car to reach other desired spots. All in all, this is a great no-nonsense location with all the necessary loot for the perfect start to a match.

The drop spot you love the most

Yes, you read that right! The best landing spot in Fortnite is also the one that suits your plastyle best. There’s no ‘right’ way to play the game and every location on the map has something unique to offer in terms of theme, NPCs, loot distribution, terrain, mobility options, and more.

The spots listed above can undoubtedlty give you an edge in battles and help you climb the ranks quickly. However, do not hesitate to land and struggle for success at your favorite location countless times if that’s more fun!
