As absurd and hilarious as the idea of fans deploying drones to get early footage of GTA 6 from Rockstar Games’ offices may sound, it’s not completely out of the ordinary for something like this to happen. That is, considering the extreme lengths to which the fanbase can go when it comes to leaks.
Take Two Interactive had to dispatch its lawyers in order to handle the situation around GTA 6, which was coordinated by a major Cybercrime Group. The news of a young kid utilizing an Amazon Fire TV Stick in a hotel room to leak the game’s footage sounded something out of a spy film as it made headlines on various news outlets.
Looks like Rockstar and Take Two can’t catch a break yet because, according to posts on Twitter/X from a well-known community figure KiwiTalkz, the fanbase has been trying to figure out ways to get an early look at the game by hook or by crook.
The Grand Theft Auto fanbase can be really crazy
GTA 6 is definitely at a position where everyone can consider it to be completed in terms of development. But knowing Rockstar Games and how perfectionist they are, we can assume that polishing out for the release may take a lot of time.
Still, Rockstar had the heart to allow at least one fan to experience the game way earlier than anyone anticipated. The terminally ill fan’s last wish was to play the game, as explained through a LinkedIn post, which was a genuine request to the company.

So fans assume a fully playable build must be accessible in the offices. According to the post from KiwiTalkz, flying drones was not the last thing. It’s been claimed that fans even tried to fake Rockstar IDs in an attempt to access the offices.
“I have heard stories from Rockstar devs over the years of nutty fans trying to get into their buildings to get any info they can from faking IDs to flying drones above windows to try to get images/video.” Said the user on his Twitter/X post.
Social Media Reacts to the situation
The looming antics from this fanbase have long since haunted Rockstar Games. In 2024, there were claims that fans were trying to drive by and get a peek at the Rockstar England offices in the cover of darkness.
KiwiTalkz made further statements regarding the fanbase on the same post. He said, “Unfortunately there are a number of crazy Rockstar fans that would 100% break into retail stores and manufacturing facilities to steal discs and people on the inside would leak it as well.”
This bit comes along with the new reports surrounding the news that the game might be released digitally only at first, in order to avoid spoilers and leaks. Fans on social media have been expressing their reactions to all the drama around the game so far in hilarious ways.
The closer we get to the release of this game, the crazier it keeps getting. For now, everyone just hopes these ridiculous stories about the fanbase will not lead to Grand Theft Auto 6 being delayed further.
