As you complete more missions in The First Descendant you will soon find that your inventory is filling up and you will need a way to remove additional items. This is where the deconstruct feature comes in, which will let you break down the junk that you have and give you back some crafting resources in return.
It’s a neat way of gathering more materials in the game and can help you gain resources to make other items including crafting your favorite Descendant.
Here is a guide on everything you will need to know about deconstructing unwanted items in The First Descendant.
The First Descendant item deconstruction explained

To be able to break down items and receive some crafting materials here are a few things that you can do:
- Make your way to your inventory and then hover over the items that you do not want.
- You will need to mark them as junk. On a controller, you will be able to do it by tapping R2/RT.
- Once you have marked the junk, you will then notice an orange trash icon appearing over them.
- Now hold and press R2/RT and all the items that you have selected as junk will be broken down into crafting materials and removed from your inventory.
Make sure that you are not accidentally marking and removing important items from your inventory. It’s pretty easy to get carried away during the selection process, as the amount of loot that keeps piling up with every mission can get overwhelming.
Other ways of clearing inventory in The First Descendant
Another way of clearing your inventory space in Nexon’s shooter will be to either sell them or store them. Key items that are special and will be required later can be stowed away in your storage space.
Additionally, you can also sell the items in Albion instead of just breaking them down. This will let you get your hands on additional gold if crafting resources is not something that you are running short on.
You cannot just drop the items out of your inventory and onto the ground in The First Descendant. To get rid of the ones that you do not need you will either have to store them, deconstruct them, or sell them.
In the early stages of the game, it’s recommended that you choose to deconstruct the junk instead of selling them. While they may not give you Amorphous Materials, the resources that they do provide can be quite valuable in the early game.
