Jhin Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Irrespective of the build that you are going for, Jhin has a very strong lane presence that allows him to get early leads. With his W he will be able to root the enemy bot lane allowing your jungler to get some easy ganks.
- Jhin scales incredibly well into the late game. While he has some trouble taking down neutral objectives, his abilities make him amazing in teamfights getting easier access to the enemy backline.
- His ultimate, Curtain Call, can snipe out enemies from afar if they are low on health. They can even change the tide of battle in your favor when used right.
Cons:
- Low attack speed and the four-bullet passive make it quite difficult for him to clear waves and push minions in early on.
- The lack of a dash makes him susceptible to ganks and counter-enemy engages. He does not have a good time in lane against engage supports and aggressive ADCs.
- Jhin also has a very high skill ceiling. He is one of the harder ADCs to master in Riot’s MOBA, and you will need to invest a fair bit of time in him before you are familiar with his kit.
How to play Jhin: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14
Early Game:
- Jhin’s early game will be about staying relevant in farm. He will not get the pushing lane on most bot lane match-ups, so you will have to farm under the tower and stay relevant in gold and XP till you start reaching your initial item spikes.
- Use your W to harass the enemy bot lane or root them when your Jungler comes to gank. It’s one of the best CC tools in his arsenal that can let you secure some early kills.
- Use your E to ward out the bot lane jungle. They will let you keep track of the enemy Jungler and even slow them down when they stop on it.
Mid Game:
- With the Lethality buffs, Jhin reaches his initial power spike a bit sooner than the other ADCs in League of Legends. Hence, once you have a few items under your belt, you might want to look for skirmishes to push early leads.
- Trap set-ups get incredibly important at this point. As they double as wards, you will need to fill the jungle around with them to spot enemy flanks.
- Help your team secure neutral objectives, and go for fights when your frontline engages. Use your W to root enemies and look to snipe out the enemy backline with your R.
Late Game:
- Late-game Jhin hits like a truck. Use the extended range of your Rapid Firecannon to get the fourth shot off on the enemy carries. This will oftentimes chunk out half of their health if you have most of Jhin’s build completed.
- Threaten backline damage with your R. At this stage of the game two to three bullets from your Curtain Call will chunk out most ADCs and Mid Lane champions.
- Use your E to make it hard for enemies to contest objectives like Baron and Drake once you start it up. The slow that it causes will help your team have an easier time collapsing on them
