League of Legends season 14 Lethality updates have made several improvements to the best Pyke build. He is now more viable than ever, and apart from playing him as a Support, Pyke can also be flexed in the Mid and Top lane.

Pyke Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Pyke is an assassin Support who will be able to start snowballing games when he gets early leads. He has a deceptively high amount of DPS once he starts getting his core items making him harder to deal with when left unchecked in a skirmish.
- Death from Below will execute any target below a particular health threshold in Riot’s MOBA. When used correctly, Pyke will be able to completely turn a teamfight around, while sharing the kill gold with the last person who dealt damage.
- Pyke has an amazing Early-to-Mid Game with a great lane presence. He can set up plays for successful jungle ganks and even get early kills on the enemy bot lane as soon as he hits level 3.
- Pyke is also great at roaming. If he has his lane pushed up or paired with an ADC who is self-sufficient, he can look to make plays in other parts of the map.
Cons:
- Pyke is very squishy. This is why it gets a bit harder for him to stay relevant the longer a game goes. If his abilities are on cooldown, it’s very easy to pin him down and delete his health bar. So it’s always important to weigh your options first and see if your team is on the same page with you before pulling the trigger.
- The Bloodharbor Ripper is pretty hard to master. As he is susceptible to hard CC, maneuvering him around a teamfight is tricky, and having an impact within the game gets harder if the enemy carries position away from him.
- Pyke can have a very hard time in lane against Supports who have a lot of poke. Picks like Brand, Lux, and Zyra counter him. Things get progressively harder if you keep missing your Q.
How to play Pyke: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14
Early Game:
- Pyke usually has a great time in the laning phase especially if you are able to successfully land his Q. So if you have an aggressive ADC with you, make sure you fish for kills or push the lane into secure tower plates.
- Pyke can roam pretty early on. So when you level 6 and if you are winning your lane, look to make plates in other parts of the map. Help your jungler secure objects and make successful cross-map plays.
- As a Solo laner Pyke’s early game will be to stay relevant in farm and XP. You should only be looking to make a play once you start hitting a few item power spikes.
Mid Game:
- The Mid Game with Pyke will primarily be around securing vision. So put in deep wards in the enemy jungle. If you have an Umbral Glaive equipped, look to clear enemy vision to make the most of your Zombie Ward rune.
- Once Pyke reaches two Lethality items he starts having a much greater kill-presence on the enemy carries. He will be able to solo most ADCs at this point and help his jungler take neutral objectives.
- If you have gotten an early lead, look to snowball it as much as possible. Make plays if you have the support of the rest of your team and don’t be afraid to go in if you find an enemy out of position.
Late Game
- Depending on the team composition, Pyke can struggle a fair bit in the Late Game. While he still has great kill presence, his damage falls off a fair bit and it gets easier to take him down.
- Hard CC will be able to lock you down so look for flank angles and don’t stick to your team. If you’re not feeling confident about engaging the enemy, wait till a fight breaks out and go in to clean up with your Ultimate.
- Continue to improve your vision score and take down enemy wards. Creating more areas of low visibility for the enemy team will help you have an easier time flanking the backline.
