How to fix VAN (Vanguard) error code 1067 in League of Legends
There are two ways to fix the VAN error code 1067 in League of Legends. They’re as follows:
The straightforward method
- Restart your PC and head into your BIOS settings. You can do this by pressing F2, F10, F10, or delete when the system is booting, depending on your setup. We suggest you google your motherboard’s model to find the correct hotkey.
- Once the BIOS loads, head into the Security Tab and then look for the TPM option or Trusted Platform Module.
- All you will have to do now is to enable TPM and then save the changes.
- Exit BIOS, restart your PC one more time, and log into the League of Legends Client.
The alternate method
If the above steps did not do the trick, here is an alternate method you can try:
- Reboot your PC again but this time in Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) by pressing Shift + Restart.
- Head to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings.
- Here under the Security Tab, you will find Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and Secure Boost. You will need to enable them both.

Other ways of solving League of Legends’ VAN 1067 error
Apart from the above two steps, you might be able to resolve the VAN error code 1067 by doing the following:
1) Restarting VGC service
If the VGC service is facing an issue or is stopped, the VAN 1067 error is likely to occur. To check if it’s working optimally you will need to:
- Open the Run dialog on your PC by pressing Win+R. Then type “services.msc” and click on OK.
- This will open a service window where you will need to find VGC service and then start it by double-clicking on it.
- Save the changes by clicking on OK before you exit.
2) Close Discord
Vanguard errors sometimes occur due to certain third-party software like Discord. So try relaunching the game by closing the app on your system. It might just solve the issue for you.
3) Update Windows 11
Although this may not seem like much of a fix, updating Windows 11 to the latest version seems to have fixed the League of Legends Vanguard error for many. You can update your OS by pressing Win+I to open settings.
Here, under the Windows Update tab, check for updates, and install the latest version of Windows 11 to your PC.

What causes VAN (Vanguard) Error Code 1067 in League of Legends

VAN error code 1067 seems to be affecting systems with Windows 11 the most. It occurs when the Vanguard anti-cheat system is trying to authenticate the hardware that you are using to run the game.
The software does this to make sure that you are not running a cheat engine for Riot’s MOBA in the background. The error code comes from the software called Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) which is a kernel-level program that starts as soon as you boot your PC.
TPM then goes over your specs and then authenticates the hardware that you are using to run the game. If it fails to authenticate, then TPM will show you VAN error code 1067.
