Riot Games’ latest dev update provided a lot of insight on what fans can expect in League of Legends when Season 2 Act 2 finally drops. The new act will celebrate an Ionian Festival of Spirit Blossom, and you will see changes coming to both Summoner’s Rift as well as ARAM.
Apart from this, there is an MSI Pick ‘Ems to look forward to, along with the introduction of the new ADC Yunara, a Meta game, and more.
Below are all the major highlights of what’s coming to League of Legends in Season 2 Act 2.
League of Legends Season 2 Act 2 ARAM changes
The Spirit Blossom celebrations will not be restricted to the Summoner’s Rift alone, as updates will be hitting ARAM as well, with the game mode receiving the following seasonal maps:
- Howling Abyss
- Butcher’s Bridge
- Koeshin’s Crossing
Along with this, there will be a new reroll system, and champion selection will work very differently in ARAM once the update goes live.
Here is everything we know about the upcoming ARAM changes in LoL:
New Seasonal Maps
As mentioned, apart from the base Howling Abyss, ARAM will receive two additional seasonal maps in the form of Butcher’s Bridge and Koeshin’s Crossing:
Butcher’s Bridge

This is not the first time that Butcher’s Bridge will be making its way to ARAM. The map is being revived for the new season, and instead of portals, you will now be able to hop into cannons to launch yourself at the enemy, knocking them up if they are in the AoE.
Moreover, the canon can launch you to the further tower of your team that is still standing. Apart from this, you will also find an alcove at the center of the map, which extends the bridge a bit. You will also find flowers along the way, hitting, and you can take them down with a few hits to gain a temporary shield along with a sizeable cooldown refund.
Koeshin’s Crossing

Koeshin’s Crossing is a new map that Riot is introducing to tie ARAM in with the Spirit Blossom theme. Bloom Portals will be replacing Hextech Gates, and the new portal will have no channeling time. Just interact with it, and you will be teleported directly to the other side.
Additionally, getting close to the gate will also grant you a fair bit of movement speed, giving you more room to create plays for your team.
When your champion dies in Koeshin’s Crossing, you will not see the usual grey screen. Instead, you will see a “spiritual version: of the bridge, which provides a glimpse of the Ionian afterlife.
The shopkeeper will also have a lot of voice lines, which will have references to the ongoing story of Runeterra.
All in all, there is a lot to look forward to in ARAM when Season 2 Act 2 goes live in League of Legends.
Note: ARAM games will now be rotating between the three maps. The map you get will be selected at random when a match starts.
New reroll and champion select system
The reroll system will be removed from ARAM and will be replaced with a new feature called “Champion Cards”. When a match starts, every player will be receiving two Champion Cards to pick from.
A third card may appear on rare occasions; fortunately, the selection process remains more or less the same. You pick one champion from the cards, and the other two cards go straight to the bench, and any other teammate will be able to pick them.
This going to be a much better system than the reroll, and allowing more champions to be on the bench at the same time.
ARAM changes release date
The ARAM changes with the new Champion Cards system, and three-map rotations will be going live on June 25, 2025, with patch 25.13. So it will be released a couple of weeks after Season 2, Act 2 officially goes live.
New League of Legends ADC Yunara

The new ADC, Yunara, will also be hitting the rift a couple of patches after Season 2 Act 2 goes live. While her entire kit has not been revealed yet, Riot has provided some information on how she is going to play out.
Yunara will be a traditional ADC who will be reliant on her auto-attacks to deal damage. She is Ionian and will primarily be played in the bot lane.
You will be able to earn Yunara through the various in-game missions in League of Legends. It’s very similar to how you will be able to obtain Mel in the game.
New League of Legends Spirit Blossom Meta-Game
The Spirit Blossom festival will also see a meta-game hitting the LoL client. Not much information is available on it at the moment, however, Riot Pabro did confirm some details on one of his statements:
“it’s a 2.5D, side-scrolling beat-’em-up featuring Yunara alongside Xin Zhao. While you dodge, punch, kick, slide, and fight, you’ll get to experience more of this Season’s story and learn more about the mysterious Wyldbloom.”
Compared to the Demon’s Hand, there will be slight variations in how this meta-game is going to play out. One of the biggest deviations is the fact that you will be able to complete the entire narrative without having to play any standard League matches in between.
Moreover, there will also be a Spirit Bonds mechanic, which will let players summon and connect with spirits in the Spirit Blossom mood to earn in-game rewards.

Inting and Griefing Protections changes in Season 2 Act 2
There will be several Inting and Griefing Protection changes that will be hitting matchmaking in Season 2 Act 2. The changes this time will target higher ranks and ensure that players are not investing in too much toxic behaviour.
Moreover, the developers will also be experimenting with a system to detect extreme levels of griefing and then terminate the match as a result if a game becomes too toxic. However, they will only be implementing this after there is sufficient player feedback on it.
MSI Pick ‘Ems
Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will be going live later this month, and Riot Games will soon be opening their Pick ‘Ems system to get every player involved with this international event.
Moreover, the MSI winners will be further recognized by having the skins that were used in the MSI finals up for sale in the LoL Shop.
LoL Season 2 Act 2 to see a Viktor Throwback Skin

The Arcane-based Viktor visual rework was not something that sat well with the fans of the champion. Viktor Nation, especially, were quite vocal about the downgrade as they did not appreciate the fantasy look over the previous sci-fi appeal.
Hence, Riot Games will be releasing a throwback skin down the line which, will represent his original look.
