The professional South Korean League of Legends league has gone through an overhaul in season 2025 with the introduction of the new LCK Cup. This tournament will determine the only Korean team that will make its way to the First Stand international event.
The LCK Cup will also have a very different format compared to the Splits that came before it in previous seasons. The format will make things a bit more competitive with all teams getting divided into two groups: Team Baron and Team Elder.

2025 LCK Cup format explained
In the 2025 LCK Cup, all the ten participating teams will be split into two groups: Team Baron and Team Elder. Each team from one group will play every team from the other group at least once in a best-of-three series.
When a team wins a game, it secures one point for its group, which will later determine which group won and which group lost. This will be followed with a Play-ins stage which will feature the top four teams from the loser’s group and the bottom two teams of the winning group.
The top three teams from the play-ins will then get to proceed to the playoffs, where they will face the top three teams from the winner’s group. From here, the final team will be selected who will represent the LCK in First Stand 2025.
