Marvel Rivals‘ highly-anticipated Season 1 update is right around the corner and there is a lot of new content that will be hitting the game with its first major update. While some characters have been officially confirmed for the new season, many Marvel heroes have been leaked and are expected to be a part of the season 1 release down the line.
Apart from this, there is going to be a new battle pass, new maps, as well as more team-ups that will be heading to the game. Below is a list of everything that you can expect from the Marvel Rivals Season 0 update.
When does Marvel Rivals Season 0 end?
The Season 0 battle pass ends on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10 PM PST and Friday, January 10, 2025, at 6 AM GMT / 1 AM EST. There is likely going to be a long server downtime ahead of the official launch, and you will likely not be able to access the game when maintenance starts ahead of the Season 1 launch.
Moreover, if you have not been able to complete the entire battle pass yet, you can access it again and continue your Season 0 progress as long as you have purchased the Luxury battle pass. So if you have the pass, don’t worry about missing out on your Season 0 rewards.
When is Marvel Rivals Season 1 expected to begin?
Marvel Rivals Season 1, Eternal Night is expected to begin anytime after January 8, 2024. The content drop should arrive sometime around January 10, 2024 – with Netease Games slowly trickling down additional planned content as the season goes on.
What to expect from Marvel Rivals Season 1?
There are heaps of new content that Marvel Rivals will be receiving with the Season 1 update, with most of the information around them so far coming from leaks and insider news. So here is a list of some of the things that you can expect:
1) All Season 1 leaked characters
Here is a list of all the characters that are expected to make their way to Marvel Rivals in Season 1:
- Blade
- Mr Fantastic
- Human Torch
- The Invisible Woman
- Ultron
- Angela
- Captain Marvel
- Deadpool
- Emma Frost
- Hit-Monkey
- Jean Grey
- M.O.D.O.K
- The Hood
- The Thing
- Valkyrie
According to the leaks, there are at least 15 characters that are expected to come to the game in Season 1. It will be interesting to see the kit that they drop with the impact that they have on the current Marvel Rivals meta.
2) Leaked new maps
Apart from new Marvel characters, new maps are also something that is on the cards for Marvel Rivals Season 1. According to leaks, the game will receive three maps:
- Krakoa
- Arakkoe
- New York City
Krakoa and Arakkoe are a reference to the living islands that had broken away from the Okkara sentient landmass. New York City, on the other hand, is something that many fans have been speculating to be part of the game for a long time now.
The locale has been the setting for a lot of big moments and storytelling in the Marvel Universe, so it’s only natural that it makes its way to the game as a map.
Further leaks have also suggested that New York City will feature the following areas:
- Midtown
- Central Park
- Sanctum Sanctorum
As for the game modes, Escort and Hybrid will be the ones that it will get to play in.
3) Leaked Character team-ups
New characters mean new team-ups in Marvel Rivals, and according to leaks here are the new hero combos that you can look forward to:
- Squirrel Girl and Rocket Raccoon
- Storm and The Human Torch
- Wolverine, The Thing, and Hulk
- Wolverine and Jean Grey
- Wolverine, Magik, Psylocke, and Black Panther
- Blade, Cloak and Dagger, and Moon Knight
- Emma Frost and Magneto
- Emma Frost and Psylocke
- Another mystery Emma Frost team-up
4) Leaked Game Modes
Nine new game modes are also expected to be a part of the Season 1 update:
- Arm Race Deathmatch
- Capture The Flag
- Classic Hybrid Mode
- Deathmatch
- Escort Mode
- Free Fight Attack and Defence
- Mystery Hero
- Rush
- Sniper Team Deathmatch with Big Heads
How long will Marvel Rivals Season 1 run?
Marvel Rivals Season 1 should run for around 3 months. So it will roughly come to an end in early April 2025. The developers have previously confirmed that apart from Season 0, all other upcoming seasons will go on for 3 months.
