Metaphor ReFantazio does feature a New Game Plus system which will let a lot of things carry over from the base game. You will also gain access to one new content, so if you are looking to replay the narrative in the JRPG, there is something to look forward to.
The new content is one of the hardest fights in the game, so make sure you are properly prepping your party and progressing your Archetypes, and unlocking their best Synthesis skills before heading into NG+.

How to start New Game Plus in Metaphor ReFantazio
You will be able to access NG+ after you have beaten the main story of Metaphor ReFantazio. This means that you need to unlock and see the true ending to get access to the mode. So if you are getting any one of the bad endings, you will get the “Fantasy is Dead” screen.
Once you have achieved the true ending, the credits will roll, and you will be asked to save the game. Next, head back to the main menu and load the “Cleared” saved date and you will be able to start the narrative from the beginning with a few things carrying over.
What carries over to New Game Plus in Metaphor ReFantazio?
Here is a list of everything that carries over to New Game Place once you have completed the base game narrative in Metaphor ReFantazio:
- You complete accumulation of reeve.
- Your remaining MAG.
- All Archetype progression. (While you will need to unlock all the Archetypes all over again, the progress that you have made in each of their ranks will carry over. So you can continue from where you left off.)
- All Gold Beetles that you have acquired throughout your journey.
- The progress that you have had with Memorandum entries.
- The progress you have had with each of the Royal Virtues.
- Every item that you have acquired.
What content is added in New Game Plus?
As mentioned, there is only one content that is added to New Game Plus. As long as you are not playing the JRPG in Storyteller difficulty, you will gain access to the Redscale Dragon encounter.
You will be able to unlock it in NG+ by accessing the Book of the Apocalypse at the Akademia. When you try to access it during your first run, More will tell you not to.
But in NG+ the restriction is lifted and you will be able to try out one of the hardest boss fights in Metaphor ReFantazio.
