Rockstar Delays GTA 6 to 2026 But Atleast We Have a Release Date

After months of radio silence and conspiracy theories, Rockstar has finally announced that they will be delaying GTA 6 till May 2026. This is something that many in the industry had come to speculate for a while now.

Although this does end the hostage situation that the company had been holding the video game industry in, this delayed announcement could have detrimental effects on studios moving forward.

Now that Rockstar Games has finally announced a release date for GTA 6, studios that have been avoiding releasing this year, will probably gun for a hasty release to avoid additional overheads and to avoid launching on May 26, 2026.

It’s evident that when the game does launch, it’s going to be the biggest release of the year. And now that it’s been delayed, there’s going to be more hype behind it. With the GTA 6 release date finally out in the open, Rockstar is slowly going to layer out trailers and teasers to build up towards the mega release.

It wouldn’t be wrong to expect a teaser or a trailer at Summer Game Fest, and then at The Game Awards later this year. There’s been a lot riding on this game, and from what we’ve seen so far, the expectations are pretty high.

Hopefully, Rockstar will be able to pull off a stunner like they did with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, because after all the massive hype it would be disappopinting if it pulls off another Starfield.

While it’s still a disappointment that GTA 6 was delayed until May 2026, it’s going to finally put an end to all the whacky conspiracy theories that kept coming up. From weird moon phases to clues “supposedly” being hidden in posters, it’s finally good to see Rockstar Games ending that wild goose chase for good.
