Vaults are dungeons that have a lot of branching paths inside them. Your goal will be to make your way through all the obstacles and come across various Vault Guardians. These Guardians are large elementals who patrol the vaults. You will need some patience and practice to take one out, but once you do beat a Vault Guardian, you will obtain some Vault Shards along with Rune Essence and stone.
Once you make your way through the branching paths and reach the end of a vault, you will come across a final Vault Guardian/s who will be protecting a Vault Core that is placed on a pedestal behind it.
Now you can either run up, secure the Core, and run away. Or you can take on the Guardian and gain access to the Core after beating it.
What happens when you die in a Vault in RuneScape Dragnwilds?
When you die in a Vault, you will be automatically teleported to your home bed. All the items and loot that you have in your inventory will be placed in a Graveston right outside the vault that you died in.
So, make sure to take on the Guardians only if you are confident about your skills and have upgraded all of your gear. - 20x Rune Essence
- 1x Vault Core
Stone is the easiest resource to obtain, while Rune Essence can be mined with a Pickaxe from Rune Geisers.

Vault Shards, on the other hand, are used to make a furnace in RuneScape Dragonwilds. A Furnace is one of the core crafting tools in the game, and one of its best uses is to make metal bars. For example, if you have Tin and Copper, you can turn them into Bronze bars via the Furnace.
To make a Furnace in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you will need the following resources:

- 8x Clay
- 4x Charcoal
