The First Descendant Caliber guide: How to get, use, and exchange rate

The First Descendant has a lot of in-game currencies and resources with Caliber being the more premium choice in the shooter. It will let you get your hands on a lot of things early in the game and is the core currency that drives the in-game microtransactions that Nexon has set up.

Understanding the currency might be a bit complicated for those new to live service looter shooters. Hence, the guide below will go over everything that you need to know about Caliber in The First Descendant.

What is Caliber in The First Descendant and how do you obtain it?

In-game Store The First Descendant

As mentioned, Caliber is the premium currency that you use to unlock new items and resources from the in-game store. It’s the core around which the microtransactions of the shooter are built, and the only way to obtain them is by purchasing them with real-life money.

As it’s a premium currency you will not be able to get Caliber outside the store. But there is always a chance of earning them by completing the various tiers in the seasonal Battle Pass.

However, you will need to invest some money to unlock the entirety of the Pass itself. So no matter how you look at it, you will need to invest real-life currency to get Caliber in The First Descendant.

How to use Caliber in The First Descendant

You can use Caliber in the in-game store to get your hands on cosmetics, weapons, items, as well as Descendants along with the Ultimate forms of those Descendants.

While Descendants can be unlocked through crafting, it’s quite time-consuming and will need a good deal of farming from your end. So if you are in a hurry to get your hands on your favorite character you might want to look to purchase some Caliber and use it in the store.

Caliber exchange rates in The First Descendant

Unlike in some other live service titles like League of Legends where pricing between RP and real-life money is pretty close to the one-to-one ratio, that is not the case in The First Descendant.

Here for every $5 that you spend, you will 250 Caliber. So for 3000 Caliber, which is the value that an Ultimate Lepic or an Ultimate Viessa goes for, you will need to spend $60.

So the ultimate version of a Descendant will go for as much as a Triple-A game in Nexon’s shooter.
